Living in BC Sol was tiring. Ever since Valt and I decided to live in Spain after the team had recluted us both, there had been no time to take breaks in between training and tournaments. Valt had it more difficult than me of course, since he was the champion.

I had lost to Lui, right before Red Eye broke his Luinor, which was well deserved if you ask me.

Once Shu snapped out of his trance, Valt officially moved to Spain, and I followed him too. I wasn't going to leave my best friend alone, now was I?

Anyways, with our lives being so busy, it was actually rare when we had time to ourselves like right now, to just lay down on the grass in the middle of the forest and away from our responsibilities. Times when we could relax and find funny shapes in the clouds, roll down hills, and laugh together while memories of the Beyclub came to us.

There were no worries. No pretending. No stress. We could just be together.

"Hey N/N" Valt turned to look at me. I could barely make out his silhouette in the darkness, but his bright blue hair made it easier.

"Sup Bread Boy?" I turned to him completely, wondering why his mood had changed so suddenly

"Well" He picked his finger, as he did when he was nervous "... IgotanewtournamenttohostinAustraliasoIllhavetoleave"

He spoke so quickly and so low that I had understood nothing

"Valt, what the-"

"Yup, so that's it, I'll see ya later N/N!" He stood up with a jump and left running "Please don't be mad at me!" He waved back, before I completely lost sight of him. I stood up and my head tilted, my thought coming out loud now that I was alone.

"What just happened?"

A branch broke behind me and I turned around quickly "Who's there?" I could hear my heart beating loudly and my body got ready to fight.

The bushes rustled aggressively as something came out, and I bent down to grab a stone and held it up high, trusting my launch hand to be strong enough to give me time to run away. I was about to throw it when I had the courage to give one step forward and face it first, when a deer popped out his head and looked at me in curiosity. A sigh escaped my lips as my body got soaked in relief, my hand lowering down and dropping the stone.

"Hey little guy. You lost?"

Its head tilted as its eyes inspected my every movement "I would ask the same thing?"

Gasping, I took a jump back. How did this deer know how to talk?

"Excuse me?"

"I hadn't seen you this late at night in the forest" The deer completely came out now, and a shiver ran down my spine "Are you lost?"

I kept taking steps backwards as the deer came to me, now surely freaked out by this speaking... Thing. My thoughts were rushing, but stopped as I abruptly clashed against something hard behind me, and I spun around right away with my hands in front of my face.

"Don't eat me Mr. Deer!"

"Deer don't eat humans you know"

My eyes shot open as I heard a soothing yet tired voice speak to find none other than the ex champion.

"Free?"

His head tilted in boredom, or maybe curiosity or even amusement. "Don't tell me you thought that deer could talk"

Had it been daytime, I knew he would have laughed at my red face. "Pfff, me? Of course not!" I scratched my neck nervously "That's nonsense"

He hummed in response, and I confirmed by the look in his eyes that he was enjoying my foolishness. I pouted back at him and crossed my arms, picking an excuse that he would believe.
