{PIPS POV.}

Another normal day of school, and of course, Eric's birthday. I'm not the type to judge, but seriously? We're sixteen, not seven. I could care less. I ignored everything he said and focused on finishing the essay we had for homework.

"Alright, class, we have a new stu-"

The boy walked in before the teacher could finish his sentence.

"-..dent." The teacher finished.

The boy took a seat next to me.

"Alright, well.. how about you introduce yourse-"

Yet again, the boy cuts the teacher off.

"I don't do introductions. I've been in this school district before anyway."

"Okay.." The teacher replied.

After a while of class, the teacher finally calls on the new student.

"Let's see.. Damien?"

That name's awfully familiar. It reminds me of third grade.. Whatever. I'm probably just being dumb again.

Class finally ends, and I check my schedule.
Great. I have my forgien language class. Yeah, we have the normal Spanish and French, but we also have languages like Japanese and Greek. And lucky for me, I have Japanese. I don't understand it at all. I've tried but failed. It's the only class I'm failing.

I sit down and see the new kids also in this class.. weird. The teacher handed out a worksheet.

"Today you will get into groups of two and work on understanding the Japanese language better. You have until tomorrow to finish these papers." She stated.

Let's just go ahead and put the kid who doesn't understand the work at all with another kid who's probably going to bully them. Sounds about right.

"Hey."

I looked up. It's the new kid.. why would he talk to me out of free will?

"Uh.. hi." I replied.

"Wanna partner up?" He asked.

"Sure!.." I exclaimed.

This is not gonna go well.

"So.. where'd you move from?" I quiz.

"Ohio.  Sherwood." He replied.

He slid his paper over towards me. He was already done.

"Uh.. are you sure your answers are right..?" I questioned.

"Yep. I'm fluent in the language. Im lucky they let me choose. This class is gonna be so easy." He said, practically flexing.

"That's neat!" I commented. He looked over at my paper.

"Let me guess, you don't know this?" He asked.

"Uh.. yeah.." I lowered my voice. He wrote something on a piece of scrap paper.

"Come to my house after school. I'll help you with this." He slid the paper towards me. I took it and slid it in my pocket. The bell rang, and I waved goodbye as I walked to my next class.
