Chapter 3 - Shock

The vaidya came out, and Karna and Adhiratha both hurried towards him.

Karna asked in a concerned voice, "Vaidya Mahasay, is she alright?"

Vaidya smiled and said, "No need to worry Putra, she is alright, her body is extremely exhausted. Seems like a lack of proper meals and lack of sleep. The injuries are not major and her leg will also be ok within a few days. Now come with me I will give her some herbs, give her those she will be alright and let her rest."

Karna sighed in relief and followed the Vaidya. As they were walking to the Vaidya's house he asked, "Who is this girl Putra?"

Karna hesitated for a second and then explained the whole incident.

Vaidya said, "Poor girl maybe she got away from the clutches of robbers. Better not tell anyone else about her, maybe they are still looking for her."

Karna nodded in agreement. Vaidya gave him the herbs. He thanked Vaidya and turned to go back, at that time Vaidya said, "You are very generous and kind Putra, may God bless you."

Karna smiled, bowed his head down and folded his hands to show his gratitude to Vaidya. Vaidya also smiled and went back inside his house.

After Karna and Vaidya left Adhiratha went inside. He looked at the girl and asked Radha, "What did the Vaidya say, when will she wake up?"

Radha replied, "Vaidya suggested rest, she will wake up in a few hours, where is Karna?"

-"He went with the Vaidya, to get the medicines."

Radha caressed the sleeping girl's hair, "Lord knows what she went through."

Adhiratha sighed. Karna entered the room and looked at the sleeping girl. He gave the herbal medicine to his mother and said, " Radha maa the Vaidya said to give this to her after she wakes up. He also said to give her a warm bath that will soothe her wounds and to feed her well."

After Vaidya left Radha sent Vrushali to get some clothes for the girl, as she came back she heard Karna and said, " Don't worry I will take care of that once she wakes up. Kaki, please call me when she wakes up, now Mata needs me, I should go."

Radha nodded. Karna gave her a warm smile. Without letting anyone see the blush that was appearing on her face she left.

Radha looked at Karna, " I should go and cook something before she wakes up, but who will remain with her?"

- " Go, Mata, I will stay with her, will call you once she wakes up." Karna said taking a seat beside the sleeping girl.

Radha and Adhiratha went out of the room.

Karna's heart fluttered as he gazed at the stunning woman before him. Her long, elegant nose perfectly complemented her soft, rosy lips and cute, chubby cheeks. He couldn't help but feel an overwhelming warmth in his chest as he continued to admire her. He longed to hold her delicate frame close to his own and gaze into her eyes for eternity. The feeling was so intense that he couldn't help but wonder what are these feelings.

Karna was lost in his thoughts while staring at her face and he failed to notice the girl slowly waking up.

Tiasha realized she was lying on a soft bed instead of the grass. As she attempted to open her eyes, she was met with bright sunlight and eventually closed them again due to its intensity. Her head felt heavy, and she groaned as she felt her body aching. Gradually, she opened her eyes again, adjusting to the light. As she slowly opened her eyes, she was met with a stunning pair of amber orbs gazing deeply into her dark pools. Her heart fluttered at the sight. But the next moment it was replaced by fear and confusion.

Karna snapped out of his trance when he heard her groan and rushed to her side. Her eyes were open, and he was captivated by their beauty. They were big and dark, resembling the night sky and exuding an air of enigma.

However, upon recollecting her condition, he restrained himself and called in a loud voice, "Radha maa, Radha maa come fast she is awake."

Tiasha tried to sit up but was stopped by the owner of the amber eyes. He was tall, built as if a mountain had taken a human form. Extremely fair, long dark hair sculpted his handsome yet innocent face which had the radiance of the sun. His voice felt like the gentle rumbling of thunder yet melodious. He reassured her, "Don't get up devi, you are still weak, and don't be afraid, you are safe here, rest I will go get Radha maa."

He left the room. Tiasha still scared looked around the room, a fairly big room, with earthen walls. She noticed the lack of electronics. No lights no fans, absolutely nothing. The man was also dressed weirdly. white dhoti with a golden border and he wore jewellery. Golden Kundals and neckpiece. And did he just call her Devi?

She was confused. How did she end up here? She remembered last night she was in the temple then falling asleep and then feeling someone picking her up and then the colours. Finally the soft grass and cool breeze against her skin and then darkness. Now she is here.

A middle edged woman entered the room followed by that tall man. She is also wearing clothes which look straight out of a period drama.

She took a seat beside her and asked," How are you feeling Putri?" Motherly concern dripped from her voice. Tiasha's eyes teared up remembering her mother. She nodded and said, "Better"

Seeing her tears Radha cupped her face and said, "Don't worry Putri, you are safe here. What is your name?"

-"Tiasha", she replied. Radha smiled, " such a beautiful name."

Tiasha asked in a small voice, " What is this place maa?" after saying this she realised, that she just out of the blue, had called her maa, "I am sorry."

Radha's smile widened, " No no Putri, call me Maa, or Radha maa if you want, and you are in Hastinapur dear in Maharaj Dhritarastra's Kingdom."

Tiasha was shocked. What is this woman saying, Hastinapur? Maharaja Dhritarastra? is she mad?

She has to find out what's going on. But for now, she just smiled.

Radha looked at Karna and said, "Putra Karna, go get Vrushali."

Another wave of shock hit Tiasha, Karna? This time she couldn't hide it. She looked at Karna as if she had seen a ghost.

Radha noticed her expression and asked, "What happened Putri?'

" Na...Nothing Maa." She stammered and then tried to calm herself down. She needs to find out.
