Au - Eyes of Crystal (Also my Au)
Context - Sabre have rainbow crystal eyes that literally are every color under the sun. And people always took advantage of him because they wanted to get his eyes that were made out of precious gems and jewels. Sabre is showing a very over protective Orange Steve about his eyes and why he's so afraid to show them. And Gerald is mentioned. This happens in the first Rainbow Hub before things start to go down hill by the way.

It's been a long day of doing chores for the Orange Steves but I'm glad it's finally time to relax. Me and Orange are on his floor of the house out on the balcony, and Gerald is sound asleep on Orange's bed.
"Hey Saber?" I turn to look towards my right to the steve who's sitting on the balcony. "Ya Orange what is it?" He gives me a calm but curious look before he answers. "Why do you wear a blind fold, and what do your eyes look like?"
I can practically hear the ringing in my ears of all the sounds of greed and fear from other people and myself from over the years. I knew that this question would come one day, that eventually someone would get curious and ask. I just didn't think it would be so soon, or that Orange would be the one to ask. Does he think that knowing what my eyes look like would pay for all the help he's given me? If I tell him or he finds out, is he going to be just like the others? Will he be consumed by greed?
I didn't even realize that I was spiraling until I felt a warm comforting hand on my cheek. He gently guides my head using the hand on my right cheek to look up at him. He looks genuinely worried and concerned for me.
I open my mouth to speak but before I can I feel Orange softly thumb my cheek giving me the most comforting look he can. "Hey it's ok, you'll be alright. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, so don't force yourself to." I can feel myself tearing up, no one has ever been this gentle with me.
"I- ... I don't think I'm comfortable enough yet to truly tell you why I hide my eyes yet." He gives me such a loving look that I never would've been directed at me. It is the same look a loving and proud mother gives her child as she tucks them in for the night.
He lowers his hand from my cheek and goes back to supporting himself from falling off of the railing of the balcony. "That's more than ok, I'll wait for whenever you're ready to show me." The bandanna I have worn for years straight suddenly feels tight around my head and I can feel every little piece of grime on it.
I peel off the old and worn out bandanna from my face and stuff it I'm my pocket. And I continue to look out at the field of beautiful and brilliantly colored flowers that decorated the Rainbow Hub. "But I can show you...."
Orange let out a little "What" as I started to turn towards him. I don't even get the chance to look up at him on my own before I feel both of Orange's hands on either side of my face, forcing me to look up at him.
"Your eyes are beautiful...."
