the day next seemed to go by slow, y/n hadn't hear wilbur's usual strumming of his guitar, or his calm singing. she didn't even hear his footsteps to unlock his studio door. he just wasn't there.

she wasn't sure if something had happened the night before, last thing she remembered was him walking home with a buddy of his after she asked if he was feeling okay.

she know she didn't do anything, or at least, she hoped she didn't. her friends were on her side, telling her everything they remember, nothing bad happened.

something was up with wilbur.

she found herself not having motivation to paint, sitting by her door and waiting patiently for the usual knock or even footsteps.

she wanted to see wilbur, to talk to him, hear his laugh, see his smile. just the thought alone made her blush, she didn't like him, did she?

she ignored the question lingering in her head, sighing as she checked the time and gave up on waiting. if he wasn't gonna show up, why bother staying?

she packed up her things, writing a small note for him and sliding it under the crack of his door. he'd see it eventually.

however, she didn't know that he was hunched over his toilet, one of his friends lazily rubbing his back as he hurled and spoke each of his thoughts out loud.

"she's so beautiful.. why did i have to fuck up, man?"

his friends had taken turns listening to him rant, offering him water and crackers to calm his stomach, just for him to refuse each attempt to help him out.

"you didn't fuck up, will. you were drunk."

"she probably hates me.. i mean.. i left her all alone today."

wilbur would break out into the occasional sob, the pressure of his cries only resulting in more trips to the toilet.

his hair was messy, his sweat abandoned in the hallway, his eye bags more obvious than they had been in a while. he looked horrible.

"i miss her.. god, i messed up."

he groaned as he felt his stomach churn, the only thing making him happy was the thought of y/n. her smile, her hair, her laugh and voice. everything about her.

was he in love with her?

no, he couldn't. they had only met a bit ago, less than a month. he just really, really, really liked her company.
