2020: Boat to Reedmor
"I'm bored." I huff, sitting up right.
"And what do you want us to do about it?" Alex barely looked up for his book.
"I don't know."
"Then why tell us?" Alex puts his book to the side, thinking this was going to be a conversation.
"Cause you must know, I'm bored. And it's your fault."
"How is it my fault?!"
"I don't know, just is." Sighing, Alex picks his book back up and starts to rudely ignore me.
"Wow, just, wow."
"Hey, Audrey-" Elaine starts
"Why don't you-" Evie continues.
"Play a game with us?" They finish together.
"You know what? Sure. What's the game?"
"Have you-" Elaine.
"Played the game-" Evie.
"Uno?" Both.
"Once or twice, why? Is it like that?"
"Sort of." Evie said, while Elaine pulled out a pack of cards.
After Evie and Elaine explained the rules, it was quite easy. All you had to do is get rid of all your cards before everyone else got rid of their cards. Heres the catch, you don't match cards of color, but of symbols. The game was called 'Once Upon A Symbol'.

"Ja! I win."
"Thats not fair-"
"We've been playing longer than you." The twins exclaimed with a groan.
"How about-" A knock on the door of the compartment interrupted Alex.
"I'll get it," Alex closed his book and went over to the door, "What do you want?"
"Well, we heard there was a Dry-Born in this compartment. Is that true?"
"And who are you?" Alex asked ignoring the previous compliment.
"What does Dry-Born mean?" I whispered to Nico.
"It means a mage who was born to people without magic. Like, neither of your parents, I assume, have magic. Therefore, you are the Dry-Born. You grow up in a Dry-Spell community. Also, that's the girl I was telling you about yesterday." Nico whispered back.
"Names Olive Israel. She/her. And you?" Olive wrinkled her noise, looking Alex up and down as if his presence was disgraceful. Though she was not much to look at either. She was a little taller than Alex, with fake freckles, straight brown hair, and brown eyes that looked very much like poop. Not to mention orange skin for a fake spray on tan.
"I'm Alex Morelli."
"Younger brother of Luca and Lucia Morelli."
"Ya." Alex looked done with Olive now. Olive turned her eyes to me. I shrunk back into my seat, not liking the way I was the center of attention of some stranger.
"And you?"
"Sorry, but they don't like to talk to the likes of you." Nico butted in.
"Oh, Nico, how are you?" Her voice went from poison to sickly sweet in seconds.
"I was doing better when you weren't here." Olive walked into our compartment, pushing past Alex and taking his spot, shoving his stuff off the bench. She turned her gaze to the twins.
