2020: Meridian, Idaho
"Audrey...Audrey." Something was shaking me. Annoyed, I swatted at it. Earning a light hit on my shoulder.
"Get up, unless you wanna be late getting to your new home for the next year." Wait, I know that voice, that's my mother, and she is talking about...SCHOOL!! I broke out of my daydream, bolted up, nearly head butting my mother in the process.
"Get ready, they said it's up to you whether you want to get dressed now or on the boat ride that you have to take to get there. And food is on the table." Laughing, she walked out of my room. In the past two days, I have been working on my English and am getting quite good at it, if I do say so myself. I scrambled out of bed and almost died while going over to my closet to get my clothes for the day. I choose to wear a black t-shirt, grey sweat pants, and a black hoodie with a black baseball cap. Once I decided that I was ready, I started to go through my dark green suitcase and made sure I had everything.
'Beruhige dich, beruhige dich, Nico wird bei dir dein, hat er versprochen.'
Taking a deep breath, I got up, pulled my suitcase to the front door, then walked into the kitchen to get something to eat.
"Sweetheart? I'm sorry to tell you, but my job requires me to be away over your Christmas break. So you will have to stay at Reedmor over Christmas. I am really sorry." I slowly set my fork down and look at Mutter. Swallowing, I told her it was ok and that I was ok with spending Christmas at Reedmor.
"Thank you for understanding. Again, I am really sorry for the late update. Oh and Reedmor lets people send letters in and out of the school. Not really sure how, but I am sure they will tell."
"Thank you though, for telling me." I said while getting up to put my dishes in the sink. Shaking myself, I walked over to the front door, grabbed my suitcase and walked straight out the door.
"Already?"
"Yes, mother, I am."
"Alright, let's go." Nodding her head over to where we got into Every. On the walk there we met up with a person named Alex Morelli and their family. Apparently, my mother met them around the time I met Nico. Alex looked to be around the same height as me. He had olive pale skin, light brown hair, and mahogany brown eyes. He looks friendly.
"H-hello, my name is Audrey Fuchs. I am from Dut-Germany, and I go by they/them." I said with a small nod of my head, not quite comfortable with touching people yet.
"I am Alex Morelli, as you know, and I am from Italy. Also, he/him." That explains the very heavy Italian accent.
"Hope we can be friends." He looked at me with a gaze that made me feel like he was looking into my soul.
"Sure, I...would like that." I offered him a small smile.
"Sieht aus, als hättest du einen neuen Freund gefunden." I nodded my head, smiling.
"Well, shall we?" Ms. Morelli asked, holding the door to the dock open.
"Yes, we shall." Mutter replied, walking through the door, with me on her tail.

The moment I stepped onto the boat, I was pulled into a hug, then just as quickly put down.
"Sorry, I forgot you do not like physical affection." Nico said, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. A frown appeared on my face. Left just as quickly when I came up with an idea. I turned to Nico, who was still slightly red from embarrassment, not that he would ever admit that, and gave him the world's quickest hug. Nico looked like someone just fried his brain, while I, on the other hand, was mentaly celebrating my little step for becoming more friendly. Not that I am not friendly, but I am a little shy around new people, but Nicos is nice, so I think I can start to warm up to him.
