She sat by her mirror running a comb through her hair. Whispering a poem about pines and oaks until she got tired and rised to lay her body on the massive bed." Father would be going out today. Perhaps I would be chanced to make a meal with Lovelyn in his absence." She mused picking the dirt out from her nails.
Her lush brown hair layed with her as she silently drifted off to sleep.
The shouts of anger didn't reach her chambers. The smoke of the blazing fire consuming the stables didn't penetrate her nostrils.
The pain in the heart of the people didn't come close to her thoughts.Amebel was protected from it all. She was safe and comfortable in the Trio Palace, where she belonged.

The perspiration that soaked his coal colored hair and a yellow shirt that resembled the sun was enough to fill a homemade wooden cup.
But he barely noticed, all his focus was on his elder sister's fierce voice.
" It has already been decided brother. You will marry the queen of Lebyi. It is the only way to strengthen our defenses against the power thirsty king of Zelda" she stated firmly leaving no room for debate.
Yet Valdosta couldn't stomach the thought. " She's at least a hundred years old!" He exclaimed
" She's fifty two 52 Vald. A fair age to remarry if you ask me." She replied keeping her chin up.
" Well no one asked you Viki! I'm not getting married to someone that's more than than twice my age just cause she has a higher military strength than our kingdom. What the hell?!" He rebutted
Victoria sighed a heavy long sigh. With continuous short intake of breaths before replying her stubborn younger brother.
" She loves you? What more do you want?" She asked impatiently.
" I don't love her!!! I don't even know her, she killed her last husband what are the chances she won't kill me too?" He asked sincerely frightened.
Victoria glanced at her brother from across the table. Looked at his black rough and unruly hair. His violent black eyes that blended perfectly with his strong build and physique.
" You're hot." She replied rolling her eyes " even I can see that."
Valdosta wasn't convinced and thought of another way out of the compromising situation.
" What if we get all of the other countries he's threatening to come together let's unite and fight—"" Nope." She cut him short.
" Arghhhhh Fuck you Viki!" He exclaimed walking out slamming the door.
Victoria stood up once he had left her room and walked over to the window. " It's for the best Vald. Our family worked hard to build this kingdom, I won't let that man destroy it." She mumbled then held her jade gown up to free her legs as she walked quickly and gracefully out to join the council awaiting her arrival down the stairs

He punched the breaking bark of the Mango tree ignoring the newly formed brusies on his knuckles.
He hit it almost a dozen more times before letting out a pained hiss.
Karven glanced up from the paper he was studying and focused on his heavily sweating friend that refused to stop assulting the innocent tree.
" But Victoria has a point Vald. If you eventually marry the Queen of Lebyi and our forces combine we might be able to put up a good fight against the Zelda King. " He reasoned.
Valdosta paused and slowly turned his face towards Karven with an evil glint in his eye that threatened to consume him.
" Who's side are you on exactly. Mine? Your friend who helped you escape death practically your whole life. Pushed you forward so you could secure a position in court as the Duke of Grouter against your six brothers. Played cupid for you and Lady Yasmin. Hell I made you my personal advisor!" He seethed.
Karven stayed quiet looking at probably the closet friend he has ever had. The only one who hasn't tried to stab him in the back. Literally.
" Or the Queen of Era. My snobby older sister who has one more than one occasion tried to force you into the System." Valdosta finished with his eyebrows leveled and settled on Karven.
He didn't reply. His silence was his reply. His silence struck a cord in Vald. A string that would have been better left untouched.

The hearty laughter resounded through the garden.
His voice so light and gay
Cheeks sturdy and thick with dimples that were near invincible even with the late afternoon sun radiating brightly casting brief shadows all around.
But none on the young girl smiling walking beside him." What's funny Father? I'm telling you my thoughts." Her soft tiny voice said in a quiet protest.
He held his chest and grinned widely.
" Amebel my love. My princess. My child. You are my only child dear. You will one day rule over this kingdom. You can't become some drug dealer of a thing." He said nonchalantly. Her face darkened but the smile stayed. " Father. I'm not looking forward to that. " She said sincerely.
They continued their stroll and reached the site by the pond where a table was pre arranged for a picnic. More specifically, a tea party judging by the tiny china wares that sat around the smooth wooden table.
"My child—"
" I don't want to be queen! I don't want to rule Zelda. I don't like the court with it's suffocating laws I want to breathe!...dad please." She pleaded near to tears.
King Ijoli looked at his daughter's distraught face and for a millisecond he felt the cold fangs of guilt bite into his heart, or what was left of it. But he had to be strong, for both of them.
" My child....you should get rid of this turquoise skirt you're wearing. It's reminding me of the sky, you know I'm scared of heights. " He answered avoiding her face.
He didn't turn to see her her reaction. He didn't want his sleep to be hunted with the possible hurt on her face.
No, he liked staying in ignorance. He heard her footsteps moved away from him. Slow and calculated, he almost turned back to look. Almost.
He was King of Zelda.
He wasn't permitted to show compassion, not even to his own daughter.
He was King of Zelda.
He had to think of his kingdom only, not his feelings.~~~~~~~~~~~~
