Having Carlos around with the pack meant yet other adjustments. Not a lot, because they knew Carlos quite well by now. Except Daniel and Nico of course, but that didn't appear to cause any problems at all.
Daniel was his usual chatty, super friendly self, becoming friends with Carlos immediately. It was just Daniel's gift, it seemed like. But even with Nico Carlos seemed to get along.
There was only one person struggling, but more with himself than with Carlos: that person was Pierre.
It wasn't like he had anything personal against the Alpha, it was just.....how close he was with Charles.
Don't get him wrong --- him and Charles; they weren't a thing. They were just best friends. Best friends who slept in the same bed. Best friends who cuddled, who kissed, who had sex.....But no. No relationship. Not at all.
Then why did he feel sick in his stomach everytime he saw Charles and Carlos fool around. Why didn't Lando seem to be having the same problem?
He'd asked Lando once, trying to pull it off as a joke, if he was jealous of Carlos and Charles. Lando had laughed and told him he had no reason to be jealous, Carlos was his Alpha, his mate, and that was that. Pierre had laughed too and agreed, but somehow, the feeling didn't go away.
It even became so bad that now he was reflecting on other moments he'd felt this way. He didn't feel it when Charles was messing around with Daniel; he also didn't miss the looks Max was shooting at them when those two were doing their antics. Maybe it was that.
With Nico on the other hand.....he realized, in retrospect, that his stomach had churned a few times when Charles was particularly affectionate with the blond Alpha. He knew that the most they did was cuddle, but it still made him feel a certain way.
Lately he'd noticed that Lewis didn't appreciate Charles' taunts and handsy behavior with Nico anymore either, which --- was also very interesting.
But to be honest, it didn't seem like Nico wanted anything more than friendship with Charles. Neither did Carlos.
And so ----
Pierre realized that 'the problem' was he himself.....
Now how to deal with it?
Carlos, Lando, Max and Charles were out in the garden, supposedly playing football/soccer but it ended up as mostly them just tackling each other. Laughing and rolling around.
Lewis was out helping Valtteri with the shopping, Kimi was taking a nap and the other 4 were out on the porch, watching the 3 omegas and the Alpha make a fool out of themselves.
Pierre had probably sighed at some point, probably when Charles was rolling over the grass with Carlos, because Seb suddenly turned to him.
"Is everything alright, Pierre?"
They were both Beta's, but Seb was the oldest and the 'pack beta', and he had a bit of a 'mom-syndrome'. Which means he was basically the 'mother' of the pack.
Of course he was the first one to notice that something was wrong.
Pierre tried to shrug it off, "yeah, everything is fine."
Seb followed Pierre's gaze, then looked back at him. "You sure?"
God, how did Seb always do this?!
"It's nothing, I just....am I not good enough?"
This question made Nico and Daniel turn their heads to look at him too.
Sebastian frowned, "where's this suddenly coming from?"
