I met Isaac 3 years ago. We were both in college. I was studying to become a chef and he was studying to become a graphic designer. Little did i know i was not that great in the kitchen until i met Isaac.I wasnt attracted to Isaac right away either. Dont get me wrong besides his hair he was attractive by eye but his personality was very immature and rude at times and what made me realize that i wasnt a great cook was when one day my classmates and i in college held a taste event for the other college students to try.
I was very proud of what i made. A double stuffed chocolate cake. Something simple. Which i took my time and effort on. I was struggling through it but nobody had to know. You couldnt see the struggle on the outside of the cake.
Isaac happened to be there. It wasnt that late when we decided to hold the event but i guess to him it was because he was dressed in a white undershirt and blue pajama plaid pants.
He came over to my station first since all the other stations were occupied by people already. Apparently i had a reputation for my cooking which lead to why my station was so empty at the time. Isaac didnt know about my cooking so he wasnt aware of the odds.
When he came over he instantly started talking. There didnt seem to be a shy bone in his body.
"So you made this cake huh?" He asked as he glanced to look at the cake then back at me.
"Yes i did." I said proudly as i flashed a big smile.
"It's beautiful." He said
I flashed an even bigger smile.
"Why thank you."
He ran his fingers through his hair and gave off a low little laugh.
"What?" I asked.
He looked at me. "Have anyone ever told you that you looked just like this cake?
By Isaac's intention i could tell he had compare my skin to the chocolate cake. I ignored what he meant and switched it around.
"Yeah i know im beautiful thank you." I smiled.
He paused.
"Yeah your beautiful.....Chocolate cake so lets eat." He said with his attention on the cake as if he was talking to it.
"You wanna try a piece?" I asked with a slight smile.
" Yeah i do." He said with a smile.
I handed him a piece of cake on a napkin. He took a bite and began chewing.
" Oh my gosh." He said as he continued to chew.
"How does it taste?" I asked proudly.
" uh Horrible girl that is just disgusting. You call that chocolate cake!?" He said as he spitted it out onto his napkin. He wiped his mouth in disgust.
"Really?" I asked. My proudness dead and faded.
"Yeah really. You didnt blend everything together enough. I can still pick these ingredients apart. The cake was dry and it tasted very plain."
"Oh."
I was a little shocked that someone would just flat out say that without at least sugar coating or considering my feelings. I felt pitiful. I couldn't even make a simple step cake taste good.
"Good effort though." He said as he held up his fist for me to bump.
"Thanks." I said disappointed as i fist bumped him.
"No really good effort. Even though it didnt taste that good at least you had the decency to make it look good."
"Yeah." My cake did look good. Only thing i did was spread Chocolate icing around it smoothly and topped the top of the cake with a strawberry. I know. Very basic.
