Paprika's

After what happened last night, the thing that I couldn't get off my mind was the private investigator that my grandfather hired to look for me. I knew that he would do that, but I never expected that someone could easily find me. On the other hand, I will never doubt my grandfather's connection and what he can do. If he can say that he can move mountains, I will believe it. Because he really can. That man knows no boundaries.

I received a text from Tristan saying,

Tristan:
The company driver will pick you up at the GH headquarters. I'll see you in a bit, Anika.

I was almost finished getting ready when I heard the doorbell ring. I looked at Pyre who was still in bed and quietly sleeping. I managed to get through the door to see who it was. To my surprise, I see Gale Visser in his usual business attire. It's like the one from last night, just different color coordinates and much more neat, clean, and professional. He's holding a paper bag and a cup of hot coffee.

"Can I come in?" He asked before giving me a small smile.

Startled, "Uh.." I still replied. "Sure. Come in. Pyre is still sleeping." He came inside the unit and went straight to Pyre's room.

I followed him and I saw that he put the paper bag and the cup of hot coffee on the bedside table. He took a sit at the edge of Pyre's bed.

"Hey, Psyche." He slightly nudged the white blanket that covered Pyre's sleeping body.
"Wake up."

I leaned at the frame door folding both of my arms over my chest. "She had a lot of mixed-up drinks last night, I bet she will wake up later this afternoon," I stated.

Gale turned to me, "I know. That's why I'm here because she has an important appointment for today." My eyes rolled from what he said. "Whatever, good luck waking her up."

"What's with the attitude, Miss?" He clicks his tongue. "What's your name again?"

My right brow arched from what he said. "Anika is the name. Make sure you remember."

"Feisty." He slightly chuckled, "Pyre knows how to choose her friends."

I grabbed my bag before I told him to make sure he locked the door when he left the unit.

I made it to Tristan Finch's company with Doreen and Freya. We were escorted to one of the building floor's conference rooms.

Every detail in the room, from intricated crown molding to its obviously custom-made dark grey carpet with a discreet company logo, it also reflects an unwavering commitment to quality and excellence. Just like their known bag and jewelry brands.

While waiting for Tristan and his team, Freya leaned into me and whispered something.

"It's rare for GH to have an offer of collaboration with a known brand like this one, you really hit the jackpot, Anika." She chuckled and I just smiled.

I'm thankful because someone appreciates and recognizes my work. I just want to make sure that I will take every step when it comes to my career.

We waited for a few more minutes until Tristan came with his team. He smiled at me and instructed one of her assistants to distribute the coffee that they bought.

"Let's start." He said.

His other assistant distributed the folder that contains the contract. We will review it to see the terms and conditions and if it needs changes.
