11.
Adruvior was sprawled out in his bed, a bead of drool rolling down his mouth. He had been unconscious for at least half a day. He had more than enough rest to fully recover from the exposure to the Serpent Duscle pollen and now was just being lazy.
He was shocked awake by a cup of cold water thrown in his face. He jumped up and saw Headmaster Boro standing over him.
"Headmaster," Adruvior wiped the water from his face and sat up, "You know I'm recovering from illness, quite a rude way to wake one of your fellow Wizards," he said.
"I heard you dared to bother a student from his studies, take him off campus grounds without proper clearance, or even verbal permission. Take that student on a dangerous mission recovering one of the most advanced and deadly ingredients known in nature," Boro wasn't yelling, but his voice was quite stern.
Adruvior rolled his eyes, "This wasn't just any student, Wizard Leonard shows great potential, as much as the young Knight he fights alongside. Those two are going places, I know it, Sir Theodore knew it, and you know it," he said, "I wanted to see his capabilities in the field myself, get to know him, and I must say he did not disappoint," Adruvior smiled.
"Tell me you didn't mention the Brotherhood," Boro gritted his teeth.
"What?" Adruvior was shocked, did Boro really think him that bold, "Of course not, he's a boy, nowhere near ready, not yet," he said.
"What do you mean, yet?" Boro asked.
"I know you've had your eye on Theodore's Squire. If you mean to induct him, it's a matter of time before his Wizard joins as well," Adruvior said, "I know from experience, if we're looking at potential brothers, I felt it important to get to know him a bit more, times are moving fast. The Storm is coming, maybe sooner then we think. I've heard theories from our Brothers in Diritan that Borter Tremane and Hexigal may have some connection to the true enemy," he said.
Boro sighed, and rubbed his eyes in frustration. "You know, people call me foolish for even letting you study here between assignments. Every day I have to refuse a request from another Wizard to ship you off to some no name village. To sentence you to menial small town business and meetings with a mayor asking if the next season's conditions will favor cabbage or turnips," Boro threw Adruvior a towel to wipe the water from his face. "I need you here if we're to continue our work, but I'm running out of excuses for you," he said.
"Okay, I'll keep to myself, keep to my work," Adruvior rose to his feet and gave the headmaster a nod, "Ohn Bephemcr," he said in the elven language.
"Ohn Bephemcr," Boro said, returning the ancient words of their secret brotherhood.
