Karnak shivered as he saw the rain fall down outside, happy that he hadn't signed up to be doing his show again today. Even though he loved standing on the stage and the confidence and control it gave him. He snuggled back into the comfortable and warm weighted blanket he had been wrapped in for the day as he blew on the cup of hot chocolate. He relaxed into the warm body sat beside him, smiling at the movie they were watching. It was a Disney movie Faustus had found recently, Pinocchio. The first time they had watched it, they both cried at the twist, but now they both had seen the movie so many times that they knew what would happen and that it'd be alright.
It didn't stop from the odd tear coming out though, as Karnak cuddled up to Faustus as said twist was coming up. He let out a soft sob as they watched the events unfold, taking a sip of his hot chocolate as the other carefully and softly placed a hand on his back, rubbing it as Karnak got sad over the movie once more, crying softly.
Faustus smiled softly at how emotionally attached the other seemed and gave him a soft, one-sided hug as he felt Karnak's head on his shoulder. Once the twist had been resolved, Karnak seemed happier once more, excitedly talking about the events that had just transpired and what could have all been done to either prevent or cause the whole scene. Faustus smiled and chipped in as well, putting down a few scenarios where this could have gone down earlier so they knew about it beforehand.
Karnak seemed happy about his contribution, still talking on as the credits began rolling and the cups were sat empty on the coffee table as he hugged Faustus close the best he could.
Faustus just nodded along, still participating as best he could as he was starting to feel tired, slightly complaining about his 'old man problems' as he grabbed his cane in order to grab some snacks.
Karnak watched the other and hugged the blanket close, taking in Faustus smell that was embedded into it before the other sat back down. The two of them simply sat on the couch like that, falling into a comfortable silence that was only interrupted by the soft ticking of the rain and the music they had put on to help distract from the water falling down.
Karnak was more than happy to get a few snacks in, having forgotten to do so earlier as he started talking about this new weaving museum he found which displayed old carpets, but also many more things that would've been made with weaving and the principle of it. He started talking about the way it was originally made before talking about the machine that was created in the steam ages which sped up the process.
After he had covered the resources and handiwork needed to weave said carpets, he went into the fine detailing, the Spinning Jenny, and the reason that weavers were very desired in older times, rather than they are now. Karnak continues talking about how intricate the designs used to be and how they could even cover big holes, before continuing about the holes.
Faustus didn't dare interrupt his boyfriend as the other info dumped to him, asking questions when Karnak started doubting if the other wished to know this much and adding some details to the weaving and holes which he knew.
They smiled before sharing a soft kiss, afterwards going on to chat about holes and the dynamic, the way they are created and measured, the fact that there's a whole occupation surrounding them and the amount there would be on the planet, which quickly went up into the billions as they considered what would all count as something that needed to be measured.
They kept talking until Karnak fell asleep. Faustus smiled at the sleeping figure, carefully laying him down before sitting into the old chair, sinking with a sigh into the leather as he soon fell asleep as well. In the morning they would regret sleeping on a couch and a chair, but for now, the two were perfectly content as the rain went on in the background, ticking against the window and the ground.
Not even that could rise them from their sleep as it slowly died down, leaving the two men at peace.
