(very short) (trying light angst for the first time.)
Being a pirate isn't easy, especially being one of the yonko's or four emperors. Shanks and his crew were docking out on a island, ready to leave island. He was the last to go on his ship, his chin down as he stared at the ground while walking.
"SHANKS! please!" Y/n yelled out behind him, Y/n and Shanks had met on the island, they liked each other...a lot, but Shanks had to leave, he had to leave behind his...love. Shanks stayed silent, continuing to walk, not looking back at all. "Shanks let me go with you! I'm strong enough!" Y/n said, not letting Shanks leave, he was too attached. "please..." Y/n pleaded, his voice breaking, his eyes filled with tears but not leaving his eyes.
Shanks couldn't take Y/n with him, it was far too dangerous, he loved Y/n too much to risk his safety. Shanks hated hearing Y/n or seeing him like this, but he never wanted to see him in this dangerous pirate life that he wasn't ready for. He needed his new love to be alive, and live. he had to keep y/n safe.
