Chapter 7

Eros entered Olympia angry he was cursing the very cherubs his rage and energy gave life to. He sat on his throne of clouds staring into the setting sun. Isis walked out the back speaking with some of her maids when they saw Eros visibly agitated. They exited the throne room quickly afraid to encoumter his wrath.

Isis walked up the steps made of melted lava. What plagues you, my son? Don't my son me. Cupid is allowed to walk free with my book in his hands. Who says Cupid has your book Eros? I say he has it mother when I followed him I smelled the book all over him, he is seeing a human the book is somewhere in her house. Isis laughed allowed at Eroses silly notion. Why would Cupid hide your book in a mere humans home? He can simply bring it to Olympia and place it within his Chambers where you would not be able to get to it so easily anyway, what sense would it make for him to hide it with a human you can kill at will? I have no idea mother but the book is in the home of that human woman and I am telling you that I will get my book even if it costs her life.

Now Eros you know I despise that type of talk even if she is a lonely human it is not for you to just take someone's life because you think they have something that belongs to you. Did you ask your brother for the book? Of course mother I asked Cupid for the book he denied having it like he always does when it's surfaces every 500 years the book does not belong to him mother the book belongs to me why is he so adamant on
giving me my property?

I promise you mother I will not wait another 500 years for the book to resurface again if Cupid does not give me my book I promise you or Hell will break loose. Eros, stop that threatening talk now! You know that type of language is upsetting to me we've been over this cupid is not hiding the book If the book surfaced he would have told you like he has over the last 50 decades when it surfaced why would he hide it from you now? That is the golden? Why would Cupid hide it from me?

The funny thing is whenever the book surfaces Cupid knows exactly where to find it it does not matter where it is it can be in a library or in the depths of a river on a high mountain or buried beneath it it does not matter Cupid knows exactly where the book will be at the exact time it shows up now mother I asked how does he know this? If I don't know where the book will be how is it that Cupid knows where the book will be? Are you insinuating that I am giving him hints as to where he can find the book Eros? I hope you calling me a liar indirectly. I just stared at Eros waiting for his answer.

No mother Eros watched his tongue remembering he was speaking to Isis the goddess with a temperamental attitude quick to toss him in jail to cool off for about one decade. I'm sorry mother do you forgive me? Isis stared up at Eros with disdain I've always forgiven you Eros it is not your fault how you were born but it is your fault if you don't learn to curve it and work with your situation instead of against it.

I did what I could as a mother giving birth to twin boys. I pulled as much evil and rage out of you as I possibly could without killing you. If I pulled any more out, you wouldn't be sitting here before me my son. Isis walked up the stairs sitting next to the chair Eros created for her. With a simple snap she grabbed his hand rubbing her tiny hand on top of his I love you Heroes despite the things you have done over the centuries you are my son and I will always love and forgive you but you must let this book go it will be your death and that I could not stand.

I am a god and God's cannot die you know this. No, they cannot Eros but they can be diminished mentally and incapacitated to a state where death would have been kinder. As always, great goddess I thank you for your words of wisdom and your infallible knowledge and undeniable wisdom.

Eros nodded his head, lowering his eyes in the presence of the Goddess Isis. As always, mother, your presence is the highlight of my dark day. Isis reached up, touching the scratches and burn marks around his neck what happened to you Eros? The cherubs did this when I broke into the humans house to obtain the book. Isis looked at his condition giggling you are allowing angering evils to further temper you son. I can feel your anger rising at my amusement.

There is nothing jovial about the cherubs attacking me mother why can't I kill them? Do you fail to recall what happened when you were exactly one decade old and you attempted to choke Pienu? Eros stared at his mother with concerns, unfortunately
I do recall mother, that is a day I wish I could erase from my everlasting memory.

Good, when you ask why you can't you kill those children again you will now know why you cannot kill the cherubs.
Cupid has no idea they did not die from a childhood disease running Rampart amongst the humans. I know when you were born your father raised them granting them life with extra rage in you that would have consumed you.

They lost their lives to cholera and your energy is what is keeping them alive.

This dreary fact is the real reason why the cherubs hate you because they know they were raised after death so you could live. They also know that you cannot kill them how can you kill that which is already dead Eros? How can you kill a part of yourself?

Besides, they are so cute and adorable. Mother they are wicked little creatures with devious insides. I hate them. Once again, Isis let out a loud cackle causing the sun to flicker above them. It will be okay, Eros. I promise you stay away from the cherubs, and they will stay away from you.

Eros stared at his mother as she exited the throne room. He sat back contemplating ways to get rid of the cherubs he knew if he killed the cherubs he could get his book.

After he got his book, he could finish what he originally sought out to do, which was nothing good.
