When drawing a portrait of someone, look closely at them. Don't stare for too long just take a quick look every few seconds to check that you didn't forget anything. If you're drawing realistically, look carefully at the details. But if you're drawing in a cartoony style or anime style, just figure out the unique features and exaggerate them. Just make sure it's not racist or offensive! If you can't draw the features accurately, just draw them however you want, but make sure it still looks accurate!
