The sound of combat boots hitting the ground of the forest could be heard.
Echoing.

You count the steps.
One...two
Two three.
One two
Two three.
Each step getting faster.
One two three.

You count in your mind as you stand there, scared of what you'll see running towards you.
Whether it was ill intentioned or not.
the fact it was running twards you made you freeze in terror.

Suddenly the sound of the boots halted.
The sound of the two combat boots hitting the ground was replaced by
four.
...was it
A ...animal?
You now could hear claws, piercing the leaves on the forest floor.

You're trembling as you frantically look around, seeing a misty shadow moving around you hastily, in a predatory manner.

You could see its golden eyes bolting around as it moved. It looked as if it had the frame of a canine.
Well. That is If a canine was 9 ft tall.
After it circled you it approached
And stood infront of you, its features hidden by the haze.

Suddenly it lunges.

"GAH!"
You exclaimed as you sat up in a cold sweat.

"It... It was just a dream."
You sighed as you look up, and see the same Creature sitting at the end of your bed wagging its )his( tail. Except its features were visible.

He was too tall to be in the room while standing so he was crouched down a bit, his head was hanging to avoid the roof.
He had wolf like features, the fur around his  eyes and muzzle weren't there, instead it was just the skull
His Yellow eyes illuminating the eye sockets by a skull,
  he had a obscure ammount of fur, it was pure black with some orange splotches and stripes body showing some bones and multiple wounds,
As if he was a some kind of zombie.

"MATIX!"
You yell in shock, falling out of your bed.
 
The creature named 'matix' tilted his head as you fell, curious to as why you were surprised.
