The elevator chimes and doors open to the 3rd floor, and Olivia steps out into the hallway. She had split up with her friends to search the building faster. Before she can speak up to ask about the two names, she gets a text from Bethany saying she found and spoke with Marco Rieve.
"Excuse me, does anyone here know Sai? She was one of the people who had gone out and survived the toxic gas, does anyone know her?" Olivia asks.
A few minutes of silence pass, so Olivia goes from one door to the next to ask. As she gets half way down the hall, one of the doors nearby opens, a girl with green and purple dyed hair peeks out at her.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you" Olivia tells her. "I'm looking for someone named Sai, do you know her?"
"Why do you need her?" Sai asks in return.
"My friends and I want to help others so they can survive. We want to help replenish supplies and make sure you have what you need. One of my friends spoke with a guy named Marco, who also went out like she did. I just want to know if she'll help us" Olivia answers.
"Sorry, I don't know her" Sai lies.
"Oh, okay. Have a nice day miss" Olivia says and leaves.
Sai shuts her door and returns to the couch with her sister.
"Who was that?" Rose asks.
"Just someone who wants to go out there" Sai answers, dismissing the question.
Olivia comes down the elevator and returns to the lobby, she finds the others waiting nearby on a bench for her. "Sorry, I didn't find anyone."
"That's okay Olivia, I didn't either" Joel responds.
"I found Marco Rieve, he gave me the paths he used and the recommended ways to move around. We have to stick close to the buildings, we can use some alleys as shortcuts to the other side of the block, and just hope our endurance holds up" Bethany says.
"Endurance?" Olivia asks.
"Marco suggested we stay at a sprint until we reach another building. We can't slow down or the gas will affect us faster. Although, the first deaths were pretty much instantaneous. But don't worry, we can go down to one of the stores and buy some stuff" Bethany answers.
"Sounds good, should we head there on the way home?" Joel asks.
"Mhm, let's make sure to get some gear for Kylie and Randy too" Bethany says before they get ready to leave.
They get themselves ready and leave the apartment building, running down the street following Bethany as she follows Marco's instructions. They reach the store and meet Mr Darro, who sells them some masks and old lab suits, which they wear on their way back home.
Kylie, who was waiting at home, goes down to the basement where she finds Randy. His gaze is down at the floor, a mess of wires all around him.
"Hey Randy, what's all this?" Kylie asks curiously.
"Hey Kiki, I'm just working on a small project of mine. I thought back to a day in science class where we did something similar, so I wanted to try it out again. What's up? Did you need something?" Randy asks in return.
"The others went out, I was thinking you could use some company. Listen, I know things might be rough right now between us, but I just want you to know I'm here for you still, just as I was before. And...I want to make it through this with you and live" Kylie says. Knowing their past, they didn't click well enough to start a relationship, so now being alone with him she uses this chance to talk with him about it.
