"C'mon Bangs Boy! Just oneeeeeeee! Pleeeeeaseeee!" Keefe pleaded.

"Ugh, give it up already!" I snapped, rolling my eyes. That boy is SO annoying! Like I swear, he's all 'wow look at me I have awesome hair and can ditch every class without getting in trouble!' Seriously, ugh.

"Tam. Please! You have to!" He protested.

No. Way. I refuse to do anything Keefe Sencen wants me to do, no matter what it is.

"Tam! You need to! Please!" He cried.

Wow, he sounds really desperate. Maybe, just maybe, I should hear him out.

"What!" I snapped.

"It's Sophie! And Linh! Tam, please listen to me! They ran away on a mission for the Black Swan! Alone!"

"What! I need to go!" I cried out.

Nononnononon NONONONONO NOOOOO! Oh Linh, I told you to stay safe, I need to go after her, I need to protect her!

"You? Don't you mean us!" Keefe demanded.

"Uh, no, why would I want to do anything with you!" I snapped back.

"SOPHIE'S THERE TOO! I WANT TO KEEP HER SAFE US MUCH AS YOU DO WITH LINH!"

I froze. Honestly, I never thought Keefe actually cared for her, I thought he was just teasing, but he really did care. He wanted to keep her safe, just like I wanted to protect my sister. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.

"Fine. But this doesn't mean we're friends." I snarled.

"Fine!" Keefe agreed.

We both ran to grab our stuff, and sprinted off to the Black Swan.

"Where did Sophie go! And Linh!" Keefe practically screamed.

"A mission. To Exile."

"EXILE!!!!!!!!" We both screamed as we hurried off.

LINH WAS GOING TO EXILE!!!!!!! ALONE WITH ONLY SOPHIE!!!

"Come on!" Keefe cried, seizing my hand as yanking me out the door, yanking one of the special leaping crystals from the table before anyone could do anything to stop us.

I pulled the two of us into the light.

As the two of us raced after the girls, I wondered. Maybe Keefe Sencen was okay after all.
