Chapter 4 | Time Together

Not even at the end of the week, DADA became the majority's favorite class. Draco and his gang, however, had a lot of bad things to say about the professor; whispering loudly whenever Professor Lupin would pass by them.

No one cared what Lupin looked like, even with his robes being patched and frayed. His next lessons were as interesting as the first. They studied Red Caps, nasty goblin-like creatures that lurk whenever there is bloodshed, and Kappas, creepy water-dwellers that looked like scaly monkeys that strangle unwitting waders in their ponds.

Despite all the scary creatures, the one who conquers them first is Charlotte as creatures are her strong suit. Seeing the small Malfoy girl gained them confidence. The worst classes for everyone would have been Potions. Snape was in a particularly vindictive mood these days and anyone could know why.

The story of Neville's Boggart dressed in his grandmother's clothes spread throughout the school like wildfire. Snape didn't find it funny and his eyes flashed menacingly at the very mention of Lupin's name and he was bullying Neville worse than ever. He would at times be lucky when Charlotte makes Snape stop. Ahem, favoritism between the two twins.

Charlotte was dreading the hours she spent in Divinations classes. She hated the way Professor Trelawney would look at her with a genuine smile as the flash of the person smiling came into her mind. Harry didn't like it either as Trelawney always past him with tears in her eyes.

It was most annoying when Parvati and Lavender would go to Trelawney's tower at lunchtime and return with a superior look which grew annoying for the other batchmates. They kept on pestering Charlotte and guessing who was the one she saw in the cup, but their answers were always wrong and Harry had to pull her away from them for her safety. No matter if the answer was right or wrong, she would always answer no.

Last but not least, not everyone liked Care of Magical Creatures. After that pactful first class, it became dull. However, it was unfortunate for the other classes, as Harry's class was the most entertaining because Charlotte would teach it. Seeing their giant friend having lost his confidence, Charlotte offered to teach the class instead.

Charlotte taught exciting lessons that go on par with Professor Lupin that left other classes envious. For any accidents to happen again, she had to tell the class to listen as that was the flaw that was lacking in the first lesson. Draco could not admit it but he could see why Charlotte loved Magical Creatures.

Word got around that a student was teaching and they looked with further investigation that Charlotte was teaching. Professor Dumbledore didn't seem to mind it. On one faithful day, Charlotte walked alongside Cedric Diggory to the Quidditch stadium.

"Remind me again why Hufflepuff tryouts are with the Gryffindor practice?" Charlotte asked as she looked at the many players riding around with their brooms. "Well, dear sister of mine from another family. Today is the last day for Tryouts and Oliver, the Gryffindor's Quidditch Captain, insists that we can use half of the court," Cedric explained.

"That's nice of him," she smiled but thought about it. "There wasn't anything like that before, even with other houses. They might be planning something," she countered. "He reassured me and the other members that they would mind their business. Also, it's a win-win because Harry will be there," he winked at her.

She rolled her eyes as she got up to the bleachers, giving a good luck hug before leaving. She could not get why Cedric was teasing her about Harry. In reality, he wanted to see the two get closer as he had heard the Weasley Twins teasing Harry about Charlotte being his girlfriend. Not now, but maybe next year or the year after.
