THE CURSE

CHAPTER 2:PRESENT DAY

Kimberly Houston is a 21year old, who has experienced everything in life but has kept it a secret for 6years.
"Mom I'm gonna be late for work, I have to make it in time".
"Drive carefully, take care honey!" Mom hollered.
Kim got her first car after graduating high-school. Where she was gonna work was 6 blocks away from home where she was gonna be a waitress in "The Cuba", famous hotel in Middle town. She drove to Maddys to pick her up cus they'd be working in the same place. Upon arriving she knocked on Maddys door and she opened up.
"What are you doing here?" Asked Maddy in a half scowl.
"I came to pick you up" said Kim in a confused tone.
"We didn't discuss you picking me up".
"Besides who knows whether your parents planted a tracking device on that G-wagon of yours." Said Maddy annoyed."We were friends in high-school but now we're not cus of your parents, so if you'll excuse me I gotta get ready for work."

"Maddy please just give me a second".
Maddy rolls her eyes,"make it quick I have things to do".
"The day I found out my parents were vampires,that was when they started drifting us apart and I'm your best friend I was the first person closest too you that knew you were a witch I'll find out what my parents are hiding."
Maddy irritated. "Are you done with your presentation, Kim for now I'm not your best friend so keep me from what ever you are doing." She shuts her door in Kim's face.
Kimberly got into her car and was shocked she couldn't believe she was disrespected by her best friend, Kim just burst into tears.

Kimberly had arrived at work at about 10:00am and the manager of the hotel welcomed her well and they set to his office to discuss.

"You must be Kimberly Houston, I'm Mr Oliver".
"Yeah, you are the manager right,asked Kim".
"Yes, you are going to be a waitress".
"Yes,".
"You and someone named Maddison Charles are you familiar with the name?"
"Yes, Kim answered in a sad tone".
"I know that tone looks like you guys have been having some issues with your friendship".
"Yes, she whispered".
Trying to change the conversation but can't.
"Well moving on, there are going to be two families coming to stay at the hotel, one for you one for Maddison. You're going to be on first floor room twenty six."
Mr Oliver gave her the keys for three rooms and she politely collected it.
"Well now I need you to fix the rooms perfectly I need you to break the record of perfection."
"You got it Mr Oliver."
She gets up and leaves.

Kimberly fixed the rooms like a professional did, she was given her uniform and in less than an hour she was already done.
At 1:30pm their guests arrived.

"Hello ,welcome to your stay at our hotel, said Mr Oliver".
"Thank you, I'm Vanessa and this is my husband Scott Brown and my children Maria and Mason Brown."
"Nice to meet you I'm Kimberly Houston and I'm going to be your waitress throughout your stay at the hotel."
"Thank you, said Mr Scott".
And they cheerfully welcomed them into their rooms.
"Is there anything I can get you?"
"No....,Vanessa didn't finish"
"Yes, just water, Maria cut in".
"Ok,I'm on my way".

Maria was given her bottled water and Vanessa demanded a stroll with Kim.
"So Houston your last name huh."
"Yeah, my dad and my mom..."
"Amanda ",answered Vanessa"
"Yes".
"I knew your dad for a very long time".
"I'm Not surprised".
"And you know Kim,I had a lot of enemies in high-school my best friend Felicia Anthony was the most powerful witch, anyways story for another day, i didn't know your dad was seeing anyone.
Well he was actually not seeing anyone during our time, because... Kimberly I need to tell you a secret that should never be opened,there are a lot of secrets between your parents and me so there is no need to hide it from you, but my secret should never be told by you".
"Your secrets safe with me".
"Back in the day when I was a witch your dad was a vampire we stopped being friends when he met up with your mom Amanda ,she taught him a way of evil that could never be broken". 0
"Actually I kinda found out that they were vampires six years ago and she tried to compel me but it didn't work, and so I've Kept it a secret".
"Wow, that's a long time".
"Yes",she answered in a sad tone.
"Did you also know that vampires can't have kids",said Vanessa.
"How,their my parents ",said Kim in a questionable manner.

"Yes,a vampires always born a human but later becomes a vampire that is why no child whether not to become a human or a vampire a mother can't choose".
'But they treated me fairly I know they have their secrets but I still love them".
"Oh,I can see right through you your hearts soft like cotton, a vampire can pretend he loves you but at the end he would kill each and every one you love".
"Do you have an idea about my parents or where I could find them.
"Only you can find that out".

They ended the tour and Kim was back to work.

Later, that afternoon Kim went in search for Maddison.

"Hey, mr. Oliver what floor is Maddison Charles in.
"Room 206 second floor".
"Thank you".
They pass each other oppositely.
Kimberly had arrived at the room and heard Maddys voice, and indistinct chatter from her guests.
Maddy comes out seeing Kimberly in her face.

"What are you doing here, said Maddy annoyed".
Kim dragged her to the hotel's warehouse.
"Why did you drag me to this old room".

Maddy cleaning the cobweb that got stuck onto her shirt.

"Well actually my guests in the hotel are witches and you are a witch so maybe Vanessa can help you learn how to control your powers."
"But we don't know whether she would accept our offer."
"It's worth trying, you know what Maddy I'm so sorry for what my parents did to our friendship and I promise you I will find out what they were doing."
"I forgive you Kim".
They hug and remain in peace.
"I hope miss Vanessa will accept our offer,said Maddy".
"Me too, answered Kim."
"I don't know, miss Vanessa's name is pretty familiar, I've heard that name from grandma alot of times, but it can't even be because ..."
