James (last chapter!)
James felt very happy. He was sitting in a compartment on the Hogwarts express together with his friends who he loved so much and with Lily, lovely Lily, resting her head against his shoulder. It was all wonderful. He found it hard to believe that from now on, he had no Hogwarts to return to after the summer. Instead he would have a place to live at together with Lily. They would be so happy, he thought. He knew that a big war war going on, but that wouldn't stop him from loving Lily Evans, it wouldn't stop him from living the rest of his life with her.
Next to Lily sat Remus, as usual with a book in his knee. On the other side of the compartment sat Ashley and Sirius who were playing a game of wizard's chess, and next to them was Peter, watching happily and applauding whenever one of them made a good move.
James would miss always having his friends around him. He would miss it very much. It would be weird not to always have Remus to ask questions to, or Sirius to laugh with. He would miss all Ashley's babbling and he would miss Peter, because Peter was just always there. But then of course, he would still meet them as often as he could, though meeting at times would still be very different from being with each other almost none stop. He would miss Hogwarts very much, but he was still happy it was over.
'Ah crap!' Ashley said angrily as Sirius won. 'Admit it Sirius! You were cheating!'
'I did not cheat!' Sirius argued. 'I won because of my awesome talents in wizard chess. The talents that you lack-'
The compartment door was pushed open and to James delight it was the witch with the trolley who smiled warmly at them. 'Want anything from the trolley dears?' she asked.
'Yeah! I'm starving!' James said and stood up.
He didn't seem to be the only one who was hungry, because they all bought a lot of candy, Peter probably bought the most.
'I'm going to miss you guys,' Ashley said as she picked up a chocolate from. 'It'll be very empty without you. But we'll see each other anyway, right? In the holidays and so?'
'Oh we'll see each other way much more often than in the holidays,' Sirius said. 'See, James, Remus, Peter, Lily and I really like to hang out at the three broomsticks. Especially when the Hogwarts students are there. I'm sure we'll meet there.'
Ashley smiled happily and kissed him lightly on the cheek. 'But we'll meet during the summer too, right?'
'Of course!' Sirius said. 'You're absolutely welcome to my party Ashley. In fact, you all are.'
'You'll have a party?' Lily asked confused. 'Where? When?'
'Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you. Sorry James, but I'm moving out, I found a place of my own. I'm sure your mum'll be very sad.'
'I'm sure she'll be,' James said sarcastically and grinned. 'She'll probably cry her eyes out. Well, I'd be delighted to join your party Padfoot. My mum could come too!'
'What a splendid idea Prongsie!' Sirius said and made thumbs up. 'I'm sure she's love to come and see what a great party-maker I am.'
They laughed.
As time went it got darker and darker and the click was maybe around six when Remus put down his book. 'We're soon home now,' he said with a smile. 'We should probably change.'
'Yes,' James agreed. 'Now, ladies. Unless you want to see Peter in his underwear, which I totally understand if you want to, I advise you to-'
'We'll go,' Lily cut him of, and she and Ashley went to wait outside.
They all changed into their regular clothes and before they knew it, the train stopped. They were home.
Lily and James walked if the train together with the rest of the marauders and Ashley, holding hands. The platform was filled with people and it was hard to find the people you were looking for.
'I'll see you soon!' Remus told his friends as a pretty tall man who James recognized as Remus' dad waved to Remus.
'Ashley!' A little girl, maybe ten years old came running towards them. 'I've missed you so much! Come!'
'I can't wait to your party Sirius,' Ashley said, grinning, before she followed the girl who probably was her sister, away from them.
'Buy!' Peter said as his mum came and dragged him with her.
'James! Sirius!'
James mother, a tall witch with brown hair and a warm smile walked up to them and hugged the two boys. Then she saw Lily.
'Ah, are you maybe Lily?' she asked with a smile. 'I'm Dorea. Dorea Potter, James' mother.'
Lily smiled and shook the older witch's hand. 'Yes,' she said. 'I'm Lily, Lily Evans. Pleasure to meet you Mrs. Potter.'
'The same!' Dorea said and squeezed Lily's hand.
'Hello,' said a voice from behind.
James turned around and saw a thin woman with blonde hair and bright green eyes and a bigger man with hair, just as red as Lily's.
'Rose Evans,' said Lily's mother and shook hand with Dorea.
'Alexander Evans, Lily's father.'
'Oh how nice to meet you! I'm Dorea Potter. James' mother.'
James dragged Lily and Sirius with him a few meters away from the parents. He smiled happily at them.
'So, we'll see each other really soon, right Lily?' he asked. Lily nodded. 'I really can't believe it's all over. The end of our school life you know. It feels so weird.'
'It's an ending, but at the same time, a beginning,' Lily smiled and kissed him lightly on the cheek. Her parents called on her and she hugged them both. 'See you soon,' she said, and James watched her as she walked out through the brick wall together with her parents.
