To Sleep Peacefully

ACT 2

2.    INT. BOARDING HOUSE – NIGHT - MOMENTS LATER

His hands are still typing. His eyes are slightly red. He stretches his body and takes a deep breath. His phone lights up. A message notification appears. He opens it.

A message from BOSSQU: DON'T BE LATE, TOMORROW MORNING MEETING.

He continues typing. Then he closes his laptop. He stands up and moves to the low bed, lying down with his same clothes still on.

A wall clock on the floor shows 01:00.

His body is lying down. His eyes are closed. Suddenly, a NOISE from the next room is heard. His eyes open, his face annoyed. He takes his phone.

He sends a message to the KOSAN GROUP: Room 24, please don't be noisy.

He puts his phone down and closes his eyes again. Suddenly, a COCKROACH walks towards the bed.

Reyhan is still lying down calmly. The cockroach starts walking beside the bed. Reyhan turns his body, facing away from the cockroach.

The cockroach starts climbing up the bed. Slowly climbing up Reyhan's body. Climbing up his arm, then going back down to the bed.

Then it climbs up the pillow and passes by Reyhan's face. He wakes up, panics, and screams loudly. Seeing a cockroach in front of him. Quickly, he stands up.

He moves away from the bed. The cockroach is still behind the pillow. He looks away from the bed to get Bug Spray from the drawer.

When he looks back at the bed, the cockroach has disappeared. But Reyhan is still alert. He looks slowly at every corner of his bed.

Then, near his feet, the cockroach appears. Reyhan is surprised, he jumps away from the cockroach and immediately sprays it with the Bug Spray.

The cockroach is still trying to escape. Reyhan keeps spraying it. When the cockroach tries to climb the wall, Reyhan manages to make it fall.

He keeps spraying it. Finally, the cockroach stops moving. Reyhan takes a deep breath, puts the Bug Spray back in the drawer, and lies down on the bed.

3. INT. BOARDING HOUSE – BED ROOM - NIGHT

A loud noise is heard again, Reyhan sits on his bed annoyed.

He looks at the clock, it's 1:45.

He takes his phone.

Then he types a message to the LANDLORD: Sorry sir, this room number 24 is too noisy. Please make it quiet, thank you.

Reyhan lies down again and closes his eyes.

DISSOLVE TO:

4. INT. BOARDING HOUSE - BED ROOM– NIGHT - MOMENTS LATER

The noise from the next room is heard again.

The clock shows 2:15.

Oyen wakes up and sees the overturned cockroach.

He plays with the cockroach, but it turns out that the cockroach is still alive.

The cockroach stands on its legs, but it spreads its wings and flies.

Oyen sees the cockroach fly and wants to catch it by jumping, causing some items to fall.

The cockroach passes over Reyhan, and Oyen tries to catch it but falls on Reyhan's face.

Reyhan wakes up. He sees the cockroach flying towards him.

He is surprised and immediately stands up from his bed while holding Oyen in his hand.

Oyen is immediately put back into the cage.

Reyhan takes Bug Spray, and the cockroach sticks to the wall.

He immediately sprays Bug Sprayon it until the cockroach falls to the floor and stops moving.

Reyhan stops spraying .

Suddenly, the noise from the next room is heard again.

5. INT. BOARDING HOUSE– ROOM HALLWAY - FRONT ROOM – NIGHT - MOMENTS LATER

Dimly lit, the hallway is not long and a little narrow. Some sandals and shoes are neatly arranged at each door.

Reyhan stands while knocking loudly on the bedroom door.

From behind, the sound of the DOOR HANDLE opens. Reyhan looks at the source of the sound.

ANGEL (23), looks at Reyhan and then puts his index finger in front of his lips, and immediately closes his bedroom door.

Reyhan understand the sign, then leave the loud room and enters his room annoyed.

6. INT. BOARDING HOUSE – BED ROOM - NIGHT

Reyhan is lying on his bed, his face looking annoyed.

But, there is no sound from the next room..

... SILENCE...

He closes his eyes, then a NOISY SOUND comes from the cage.

Oyen meows loudly, scratches and bites the cage, and plays with his empty food bowl.

Reyhan looks at Oyen. Angrily, Reyhan gets up from his bed and gives him more food.

Oyen eating his food, while Reyhan watching him. 

The his stomach growling, he takes a pack of instant noodles and leaves the room.

7. INT. BOARDING HOUSE – KITCHEN– NIGHT

Clean eating utensils are randomly stacked on the shelf. There are some dirty utensils in the sink.

He takes a clean pot, fills it with tap water, and puts it on the stove that is turned on. The water is not boiling yet.

8. INT. BOARDING HOUSE – KITCHEN – NIGHT - MOMENT LATER

He turns off the stove, drains the instant noodles, and serves them on a plate.

Reyhan walks away from the kitchen.

There is no flame, but the sound of gas can be heard coming from the stove,
