Once when Ava and I were younger, we had a sleepover at her house. We were watching an episode of Socky the Sock Puppet when the lights went out and everything went dark. Ava got scared so to try and help her I wished for the lights to come back. Next thing I knew the room was lit up, but not from the lights above us; My hands had started glowing.

M/N's POV:

I woke up a bit earlier than usual so that I could wake up my roommate Ava for her job interview today. Knowing that sack of potatoes, she probably set 7 different alarms that she'd silence anyway because she's lazy. Walking over to my bathroom I take a moment to look at myself in the mirror; My (h/c) hair was a jumbled mess on the top of my head and the slight bags under my eyes told me that I had another night of restless sleep.

Sighing, I began to get ready for the day, washing my face and doing the usual routine that would make me feel better once I was done. I took a quick shower, the water cold as I tried to wake myself up more, and got dressed in some nice summer clothing.

I look over at my bedside clock and smile; I have enough time to make some breakfast. Walking out into the living room and kitchen area I begin to gather the supplies for breakfast. I opened the fridge and deadpan, the only thing in there was a box of milk and two slices of cold pizza. Riiight, we don't have any groceries. Damn it, now what am I going to make?

As I debate over going to Mrs. Oats and asking for some ingredients or just taking a quick trip to the supermarket and getting the things myself, Ava's first alarm goes off. I hear her groan in annoyance and the alarm shut off before the apartment goes silent again. Shaking my head, I walk over to her room and peek inside.

There she was, curled up in a ball and sleeping soundly like she didn't have an interview to go to in like... an hour and a half. Walking in, I shake her lump of a body with enough force to send her flying.

"Ava," I say lightly, shoving her shoulder. She groans but doesn't budge, instead snoring lightly and falling back asleep.

"AVA!" I yell; still no answer. At this point, I should just let her be late for her interview. That'd teach her a lesson.

I decided that, since she still had a good 20 minutes before she was really going to be late, I would just tell Johnny or Grimm to wake her up when the time came. Speaking of Grimm...

I walk out of Ava's room and begin wandering the apartment looking for my cat. I see Johnny sleeping soundly on his little bed near Ava's door but the bed next to him is empty. "Grimm~" I coo, trying to find the little bugger. "Grimm, where are you?"...

No answer. Gah dammit, where is he? I think to myself in slight annoyance. Walking around the apartment, I looked under cabinets and on top of fridges to find him nowhere. It's almost like he disappeared completely, but knowing that lazy cat, he's probably under a pillow on my bed sleeping with no care in the world (as he should) so I guess I'll just tell Johnny to wake Ava.

After doing exactly what I said I was going to do (and potentially making Johnny mad at me) I get my keys and my wallet and decide that I shouldn't bother Mrs. Oats and instead get the ingredients myself. As I open the front door I'm met with our friend and landlord Jake.
