TW: ABUSE

My heels echos throughout the house as I make my way down the stairs.

The wedding was finally here and to say Nicolas was irritated would be an understatement. He's been arguing with everyone since he woke up. The only reason he actually got ready was because his mother threatened him. It was the funniest thing i've ever seen.

"Finally, you took fucking forever." Luca exaggerates.

I roll my eyes, joining everyone at the entrance of the mansion.

"Alessandra and I will be in one vehicle, same with mom and dad and well Luca, you're on your own." Nicolas says.

"Why am I alone?" He grumbles.

"Maybe if you had a wife you wouldn't be alone. "I retorted.

"That's enough arguing. Let's go." Nicolas's mother pushes us all out the door.

Nicolas, like the gentleman he is- oh, who am I kidding? After his mother glared at him, he opens the door for me, holding my dress from touching the floor as I enter the car.

I connect my phone to the bluetooth, the silence in the car becoming to loud.

"Turn that shit down." Nicolas, glares at me, taking his eyes of the road for a split second.

"Are we going to act like civilized adults, and have a conversation?" I take it of for a second.

"No."

"Well there's your answer." I turn it back up, a little louder than before.

I hear grumble words in Italian under his breath and smile to myself. He needs to realize he's not allowed to boss everyone around.

"Why are you smiling?"

"Because I want too?" I say, like it's the most obvious thing.

"Weirdo." He mumbles.

I gasp and whack him on his arm. "I'm not weird."

"Yes, you are." He acts hurt, rubbing the spot where I whacked him.

"I'm not the one who put a gun to my head and forced me to marry you." As soon as the words leave my mouth, I regret them. Way to run the mood Alessandra

The rest of the ride to the venue is quiet and I thank god as the car stops. I immediately get out, joining everyone else who arrived a few minutes before us.

"Be on your best behaviour." Nicolas's father says in a firm tone, to both Nicolas and Luca.

The wedding was taking place in a church and the reception on the roof of the hotel a few minutes away.

We're one of the last few people to enter and quickly take a seat in the second row.

Soon, the music starts playing on the speakers, and the door opens, revealing the bride.

I feel Nicolas tense next to me, his knuckles turning white as he grips his phone. He glares at the front of the church, not once turning around to catch a glimpse of the bride.

As she nears the front, her gaze goes to Nicolas before turning back to the front.

During the wedding, she stares at Nicolas but the rest of the ceremony goes by in a flash.

Nicolas is out the door as soon as the wedding ends, not waiting for any of us.

I eventually catch up to him, but, he's already seated in the car.
