The rest of the week passed quickly, leading straight to a long weekend. Alex had kept his distance in school, mainly due to Charley various threats regarding his life and the life of his future children. He texted me a couple of times but I never responded. "Charley, do you want to stay over tonight? Mam is going out or something." I asked as we closed our locker following the final bell. "Yeah I'll come over later, I just have to grab some clothes and stuff." She told me with a huge grin on her face. "We haven't had a sleepover in so long!" She exclaimed as we walked out of the school gate. "My mam's over there so I'll see you later!" She called running over to her mam. I waved and called goodbye to her. I began the solo walk home pulling out my phone for my music. "Elle, wait up" I heard someone cal from behind me. I turned to see Alex running up towards me. "I'll walk you home." He said falling into step beside me. "Alex, really, it's okay. You're not my boyfriend so you don't have to" I said curtly trying to walk away from him. "What? Baby, don't be stupid. You and me, we're meant to be together. Even your mam said so." He stated matter-of-factly. "Alex are you blind? Do you not see what you've done to me? You hurt me and I don't think that I can trust you anymore." I said angrily. "But surely you still like me?" He asked in a fragile tone. "I don't know, Alex. I mean, yeah you're hot or whatever, but I'm afraid of you.I am afraid of you." I shrugged my shoulders. " Isn't there anything that I can do?" He asked me sadly. "Honestly, I don't know. Every one that I know has told me you're no good, and I guess I agree with them. I can forgive you eventually, but I will never be able to forget what you did to me." I was more than angry at him bit I was scared too. "I will get you back." He said in a convincing tone before stalking away.
I got home and texted Josh. I was shaking and scared and I needed his advice. I needed him to help. He spoke to me again. My hands were shaking as I texted those words. Alex was 6"3' which towered over my petite 5"5' frame. He was extremely intimidating. My phone buzzed. What did he want? Do you want to skype or something? Josh had definately taken on a big brotherly type role. I grabbed my laptop and made my way downstairs to my bedroom. I logged on to skype and was immeadiately called by Josh. Evan, Pete and Josh were on screen when I accepted the call. "Hey, what's up?" Pete greeted with a smile on his face. "Are you okay?" Josh asked me, a worried look on his face. "I mean I guess I'm just shaken up a little bit. He told me wants me back. And when he wants something, he gets it." I shrugged my shoulders. "Well, did you tell your mam?" Evan asked me. I shook my head. "She's at a conference thing in Dublin. She isn't back until Monday." I told them. "Wait, you're home alone? Didn't get in on Monday?" Josh said looking a bit panicked. "Charley is going to stay, it's fine. I promise. I just needed someone to talk too, to tell me I'm going to be fine." I smiled slightly. "Who better than you guys?" They all laughed then. "Hey congratulations on Slane!" I remembered. They all cheered. "It's a bit crazy but we can't wait." Evan said happily. "You're going to come, right?" I thought about it for a minute. "I guess I could, but I need someone to go with." I said grinning, then the doorbell rang. "It's open" I called up the stairs, expecting it to be Charley. "Is that really a smart thing to be doing?" Pete asked me sceptically. "It's Charley, it's fine." I answered hearing someone walking towards me. "I am not Charley." A voice said behind me. I whipped around to see Alex standing behind me. "What the hell?" I shouted at him. "Get out of my house Alex!" He smirked cockily at me. "Why would I leave my girlfriend on her own? I know your mam is gone away." I sighed. "Did you not understand anything that I said to you earlier?" I asked him. "I'm not your girlfriend." Then Josh piped up. "Dude leave. Don't be an asshole." I sent him a warning glance. "Who the hell are you?" He asked him angrily. "You're cheating on me?" Alex asked grabbing my arm. "What? No! I can't cheat on you if we're not together and they're just my friends." I yelled at him trying to free my arm. "Let go of her!" The boys yelled from through the computer. "Yeah I'd let her go if I was you." Charley had appeared behind him. "Why should I listen to you?" He asked laughing at her. She smirked at him before punching him in the nose. "Get out right now." I said my voice low. "You're a psycho!" He pointed at Charley 'and we are not over" He stated leaving.
"Are you okay?" Charley asked me after the front door had slammed. "Yeah. I wish he would stop breaking in though." I said, letting out a shaky breath. "He's come in before?" She asked me shocked. "Yeah on monday" Josh answered for her. "Why didn't you tell me?" She asked me. "Because I was stupid, and told him I would think about getting back together because he had been yelling at my mam. I just want him to go away." I sighed. "He'll get bored eventually. Don't worry unless he goes crazy" She gave me a hug. "By the way, who are these people?" She asked pointing at the screen. "Oh sorry! This is Evan, Pete and Josh, 3/4 of The Strypes and they are the guys that helped me after the thing" I said. "Where's Ross?" I asked them " He's at the doctor, he has a cold or something" Evan answered. "Tell him I said get better" I told them after we had talked for a while "Talk to you guys soon" I waved before logging off.
"They seem really nice." Charley said as we went upstairs to watch movies. "Yeah they are." I answered her a smile on my face. "That Evan guy totally has a thing for you." She said slyly elbowing my in the stomach lightly."He does not. You are so crazy." I said laughing. "What do you want to watch?" I asked after she had sprawled herself across my sofa. "The new Orange is the New Black was released yesterday. I think that we can watch the whole series in the space of 2 days." She grinned "You have too much faith in us" I answered starting the first episode. "This will be a good weekend" Charley cheered getting ready under a mountain of pillows.
