"If you can keep a secret, I can keep a secret," Katie tried persuading Mercedes, as she watched her cry. She was having suicidal thoughts, Katie was her best friend. She knew there were secrets. She needed to get to the bottom of it, but there wasn't anyway she could get Mercedes to confess anything she hadn't the previous times Katie had tried to ask her.

Mercedes gave her a look, a mean scowl on her face. "Stop always asking me what my secrets are!" She yelled. Katie looked at her, her mouth wide open. Mercedes could sense her shock, but didn't do anything. She was sick of it-Merecedes. Sick of all of it. The talking about secrets. The everything. She'd been living with Paul and Lindsey for three months and her next door neighbor was her only friend. She could feel her control slowly easing out of her. She couldn't stop it. She was transforming right in front of Katie. "I have to use the loo", she said under her breath, then quickly ran into the loo closest to her bedroom.

"Are you ok?" Katie called into the bathroom knocking lightly. Mercedes couldn't hold it back. Her adoptive parents weren't home, so if she wanted to come out of the bathroom, she'd be able to kill Katie in cold blood; which was beginning to slim down to her only option. The blood drained into her vains, and her teeth came in, with a stir, that was the worst part. Her eyes turned bright red. Cold blooded. Her veins were popped out and the blood circulating was visible. It was actually kind've a cool transformation.

She had no way out now. Fully transformed.

"MERCEDES DANIELLA MURRAY! ARE YOU OK?!" Katie called out, Mercedes could tell her friend was becoming very impatient and she definitely had no way out. Mercedes opened the door slowly, Katie cocking her head slightly as if making sure she was ok. Mercedes quickly grabbed Katie and ripped her shirt, digging her sharp nails into her chest and as she looked down from where she was standing she could see the blood dripping on the floor. Some of her victims went down harder than others, but Mercedes realized Katie was still alive. There was only on way. She quickly took a glance behind her to find a pair of scissors sitting on the bathroom sink next to the soap dispenser. She reached for the scissors and said her goodbyes in her head. Pulling her arm back as far as it could go, she came full force at Katie, sending the tip of the scissors straight through her neck. She was dead. So Mercedes decided it was safe to open the door. Seeing her dead friend still in her hand, didn't strike her feelings at all. She had to dispose of the body. There was a junk yard a few miles down the road and Mercedes thought that to be the perfect place. How she would get Katie to the junk yard was the next, hardest question to answer. Katie's parents, the Mallons' house was right next door (As stated in the beginning of the story, Katie was Mercedes' neighbor) and they were home. They were expecting her to come home at dinnertime. Well, when they'd find Katie's disappearence the first thing they'll do is call the cops, which means when the body is located, Mercedes' prints will be found. She had to find another way.
