Wait a minute, Mercedes' thinks to herself, I'm not going to leave any prints in my transformed state; and even if they identify the prints, It's not my human prints. That was where she was wrong. One thing after another Mercedes' learned about herself each and every day. She decided to wrap up the body in an old blanket, that Mercedes' knew she wouldn't miss. Once she got Katie's body completely covered, she heard a car door slam shut. Lindsey. She was coming home early, because her cousins were coming from Duluth.

Mercedes decided she'd pretend it was trash and then lie and say she was taking it out front. There was one problem. Lindsey would know if the trash wasn't sitting at the end of the driveway, if it wasn't there. She thought to herself for awhile. Mrs. Joposki was a widowed lady at the end of the street. She was so old, if Mercedes took her trash and put it in front of her own driveway, Mrs. Joposki would come to the conclusion that the garbage man took the trash early this week.
