Heirarchy - Negative

The boy played the song Ella sang in his head.

The song was very clear, and her voice was very pretty. He loved how she sang, and he knew he wanted to hear it again.

Everyday he visited the same spot, at the same time. But she never visited again. He worried she mightve been attacked by the "animals" He had heard about.

Down in the negatives, if you wanted to live somewhere, you needed to either win a piece of territory, or live with someone who had their own. Most chose the latter, but to do that, you needed to prove you were worth keeping. This influenced our boys thinking.

He decided that even if she visited the rock, he didn't deserve to see her again. She was from the fourth floor. He was from the negatives. He needed to at least be useful enough she would allow him to stay nearby. So first, he found someone.
