The sun was still low on the horizon, but in the biggest kingdom in the southern valley was already wide awake. The farmers from the area were busy convincing people that their fruit and vegetables were the best they could get. Fishermen chased the birds away and the baker did the same with the local troublemaker street kids.
"Let's see now, where do I begin? My name is Kotoha and growing up I heard tells of dragons, especially the monstrous 12 Kizuki but luckily one hasn't attacked a single kingdom in 500 years.
As future queen, I wanted to protect my subjects from cruelty of those beasts, at the age of 13 I asked a knight of the old code named Shinobu , to train me how to fight in secret, she happily agreed due to my parents throwing a fit and just lied by saying I was taking dance lessons.
She trained me in swords play, spear fighting, the way of the old code, fighting with an axe, archery, and how to track. Now at 15 I exceed at sword fighting and archery, as well as being one of the better trackers Shinobu had ever seen. She was amazed at how fast I memorized the old code.

The morning I turned 16 me and Shinobu overheard my father talking to other kings about an arrange marriage about me and who other dumb prince my father was obviously going to choose with the most money....hopefully not Prince Kentaro due to him being drunk ,abusive and stupid
That night.
"your Highness rest well," the maid said bowing her head then left the room.
When I could no longer hear her foot steps I rushed to my wardrobe throwing open the doors and throwing all my dresses out of it to reveal a small armory in the back of the wardrobe as well as my own custom made armor from the castle black smith rengoku. All the weapons were from him. I grabbed my bow and quiver of arrows, my sword, and my shield with the blue bird family crest. I changed out of my blue dress and into my black armor placing my quiver bow and shield on my back and bucketing my sword to my waist. Finally I pulled my hair back with a blue silk ribbon.

"Alright boy let's go," I said and he took of running full speed to the dragons cave. The dragons cave was near an old ancient temple that was now in ruins.
"Why am I doing this? Because either I prove to my father that I don't need an arrange marriage or die getting eaten by one of the 12 most dangerous dragons."
12:00 Hundreds of miles away from the castle, the dragons cave was an old forgotten frozen hot spring.
I tied my horse behind a group of trees to keep him hidden. As I walked into the cave I set my bow with a wisteria poison arrow.
The cave was surprisingly warm on the inside and but I was freezing in my armor. Half way in I was already sweating, my brow was soaked with sweat. After about five minutes of shivering I found the Kizuki frost dragon feasting on several dead bloody cows and sheep.
The fog from the springs clouded my vision but I could make out the Kizuki frost dragon and tell that his back was facing me. I took aim at the back of his head right wear his neck meets his head,but before I could fire my arrow , his tail swiped my feet from underneath me causing me to fall and shoot my arrow into the caves roof just past his head.

"Young lady, I wouldn't do that if I were you," the Kizuki frost dragon said holding his battle ax tail to my throat, "It isn't very nice to try and shot someone while they are feasting." his golden eyes glowed the upper moon 2 symbol.

Gifting this work to Bearsofthewest because I gave them a dragon AU idea and I can't get this somewhat similar fic out of my head , plot bunnies are after me!!!!
