Brooklyn's POV:
Fred is at the gym in the city today with Kalen, so it's a Emmy and mommy day! We do it every week where the two of us go out somewhere. And Emmy knows the day that it is. Sunday morning.
She got out of bed and ran into our room, climbing onto the bed, cheering that it was Emmy and mommy day.
Sometimes we go into the city, but today I decided to stay in town and walk around the town square. There's always little street vendors and Emmy really likes going into the shops.
She held my hand as she walked down the sidewalk with me, in her light blue summer dress and Converse.hair style of the day is high pigtails, and the hair is curled slightly since she saw me curling my hair.
"Mama can we go there again?" Emmy asked and pointed to the cafe that was across the street.
"Sure baby." I reached down and picked her up, sitting her on my hip, then looked both ways and crossed the street when no cars were coming.
I walked through the propped open door into the fairly busy cafe.
There wasn't a line and I went right up to the counter, smiling when I saw it was Phil working. He was an older man who always know who I am, and Fred, and Emmy of course. We just come here that often. I love this place.
"Hi Phil!" Emmy smiled big at him, showing off her little teeth.
"Well hello there little Emery. I haven't seen you in so long." Phil smiled.
"I was in London." She said.
"London?! What's in London?"
"My nana and grandpa." She said with a little nod.
"Well I hope you had fun."
"I did." She said with a little giggle.
"Well then, what can I get you tw-"
"Sir, there's a delivery in the back that you need to sign." A guy said.
"Okay Josh. Take their order for me please, and throw in a free cake pop of the little ones choosing." Phil winked at me, then turned and walked into the back.
Josh took his spot and looked at me with a little grin. I've never seen this guy work here before. Maybe he's new. Or maybe he doesn't work shifts that I usually come in for.
"What can I get for you today ladies?" He asked.
"Can I please have a large iced coffee with extra sugar, and, what would you like honey?" I looked at Emmy.
"Smoothie." She said.
"A banana and strawberry smoothie. Small. Please" I said.
"Of course. That'll be $7.50. And the free cake pop. Do you want to pick one out?" He asked Emmy as he grabbed the machine. Emmy's cheeks went red and she looked at me. She gets so shy like me.
"Go look in the window." I said and set her down on her feet, then she walked a few steps away from me and looked at all the flavours. "Debit."
He tapped thee green, then turned it to me and I tapped. "Would you like something as well? I can cover it." He said and raised his eyebrows a little.
"Oh I'm okay." I said with a smile. Emmy and Fred made cookies last night and I may've eaten five of them this morning. While Fred is working out I'm stuffing my face with food. Sounds about right.
"Chocolate mama." Emmy said and pointed to the chocolate cake pop.
"One chocolate cake pop coming right up. Can I have a name for the order?" Josh asked.
