{Sinopsis: We all love a cliché love story. Even though we already know how it ends, we still read it. We have the athlete who falls in love with the nerd, from enemies to lovers, and the mean cheerleader who secretly likes the least popular kid in school. You know what kind I'm talking about.
One of my favorites is the smart student who helps the popular one to have better grades to graduate and they end up falling in love. Well, that's exactly the story we are following today.
Ryujin is a smart-ass girl who has no social life because her only friends are the books in the library. She lives with her widowed mother but they barely spend time together. She has a shitty job at the local cinema that's slowly falling to the ground because they only project old movies and the only ones that use it are teenagers to make out. She's always been invisible at school, no one talks to her and teachers hate her because she knows more than them.
Yeji is the new shining star athlete in town. She comes from a wealthy New Yorker family that wants to turn a random ghost town into the next big metropolis. A project like that could boost the state's reputation and business market. Of course, everyone started talking about the new hot Asian girl that just moved into the expensive house.
Despite being a star athlete, teachers won't give you an A+ without doing assignments but where Yeji comes from, a Ben Franklin bill fixes the problem, unfortunately not in this town. Someone would think the only relation between the two of them is that Ryujin is simply Yeji's tutor.
At first, Yeji was hesitant to accept extra classes but eventually, she did, under one condition, no one could know. She had to remain the cool girl in school and Ryujin didn't care. After a sudden switch in their lives, they stopped talking to each other, but what drove them closer again was the unexpected relationship between their parents.
-"We shouldn't care, it's our lives!"
-"Even if they are... it will be weird if we keep dating" -I know my words will hurt her, but that's what she needs to hear.
-"What happened to let go? To live a little?" -the girl grabbed my hands almost begging- "You promised me"
-"I'm not like you..." -she let go, turning her back on me- "I'm not strong enough to leave my life here. I can't forget my life plans overnight..."
-"You are a coward..." -the girl whispered.
-"I know" -I grabbed my bag from the bench to head back home- "That's why you should forget about me"

POV Ryujin
I have always been one of the strange kids who enjoys the first day of school. The night prior I iron my uniform and prepare my backpack, my wallet, and the brand-new shoes I will wear and even so, it doesn't stop me from not being popular and the truth is, I don't care.
I have learned that it's better to be invisible at school. You can listen to other students' gossip, because they don't notice that you are in the same room as them, leave class without the teacher noticing, avoid PE because the teacher doesn't remember your name, etc. Being invisible comes with many perks.
