"Not this time, In your dreams," I said holding onto the beanie so tight like my life depends on it. If he hated my attitude, then the feeling was mutual. He kept his smirk while looking into my eyes, I did the same.
I didn't care if people were staring at us and stopped whatever they were doing, I didn't care about the beanie anymore. I just wanted to get it to make him a loser. He looked like an annoying person and so was I. Welcome to the club.
"You are not leaving it, aren't you?"
"Like I said, in your drea-" I didn't finish my sentence because my eyes went behind him. There was the cashier talking to an old man, he wasn't very old though, maybe in his mid-forties. I assumed he was the manager, my eyes went a bit wide. The boy's eyes went to where I was looking and he smirked wider.
"Oh, are you scared now?" I looked at him and rolled my eyes. "Are you backing before he comes, babe?"
"Never. And, I told you not to call me that," I said madly at him. The man came and smiled at us and it looked fake.
"I am sorry, but can you please give me this?" He said calmly. Our eyes went on the beanie then we looked at each other. "I am the manager here, so please, give it to me."
"Leave it."
"No, you leave it so I could give it to him," The boy said and the man sighed. He took it from us because judging the situation, we weren't giving up.
"Please, follow me to my office," The manager said and led the way to his office. We both followed him. When I glanced at the boy I rolled my eyes because he winked at me. What an annoying flirt. He chuckled, I guess he liked to drive me mad.
The man opened the door to his office and let us inside after we got in he closed it. I took a look around the room, it was small, but looked nice. Brown furniture, photographs hanging on the wall and two chairs on each side of his desk. Both of us sat there and he sighed again but smiled.
"So, would you both like to tell me what happened?"
"Yes," We both said at the same time.
"Well, I was going to this beanie because I saw it first, and-"
"Wrong! I saw it first and I was so nice to her, but she was way too rude."
"Do not interrupt me, you idiot!"
"See?! She's so-"
"Please, enough!" The man stopped us both, he didn't hear anything but our fighting. "Looks like both of you teenagers are fighting for something stupid like this, although I don't know why. And, I don't have any solution for this other than both of you will not buy this thing."
"Why do I feel like I'm in school at the principle office?" I said to myself.
"Yeah, I feel like I am getting a detention," The boy said and I rolled my eyes. "Your eyes will roll out if you keep doing that."
"Stop it!" I said and he chuckled.
"You can now leave and continue shopping or whatever you were doing, but please, no more fighting or I will have to kick you out." We nodded and I stood up, I walked to the door and the boy that I still didn't know his name opened it for me.
"Ladies first," He said smiling, I smiled sarcastically at him and walked out. "Well, that went well."
"Went good? Are you an idiot or something?" I raised my eyebrows. "We caused attention and the manager was going to kick us out, and you think that it was a good thing?!"
"It is not the way I wanted things to go."
"He could have called the police."
"No, he won't. It's a stupid thing that you caused," He said like it was my fault and not big of a deal.
