Getting up and starting the day was sometimes a struggle especially being up all night with a needy infant. Cynthia was just besides herself all night which meant simon was functioning on no sleep and you'd think for someone who's done it for years in the military it wouldn't effect him so much but he wasn't up with a crying infant all night. Back then he was able to relax and do whatever he wanted to entertain his mind while on missions. Turns out the constant crying was more draining than staying awake waiting for the enemy to strike. Simon has been retired from the military for several months now, he had too be in order to take care of his child seeing as Elizabeth wanted nothing to do with her, of course simon never blamed his sweet child in a way she saved him from himself.

Simon sat in the rocking chair in the nursery trying to sooth his child to sleep she finally stopped crying about an hour and a half ago but now she just wouldn't sleep. Simon changed her , bathed her , sang too her, fed her and nothing,  nothing put her too sleep. He sighed staring at the half empty bottle on the bed side table next to him she wanted nothing more of it which worried him. "Come on sweet angel... give daddy a break please.." He begged his 7 month old to sleep even if it was for 20 minutes just something so he could refresh his mind even if it was just closing his eyes in silence, anything would do.

He watched the clock changing minute by minute Cynthia cooed and played with his t-shirt as time went by. Simon grew more and more tired his eyes threatening too close. He sighed not wanting to bother Johnny again but he had too if he went any longer he would be up for 2 days straight and his old body couldn't handle that anymore. Simon pulled out his phone with a sigh 11:45pm lit up across his screen. Would Johnny even be up by now? What if he wakes them? Oh come on simon ! Grow a pair,  ask for help.

The sound of his phone ringing broke him from his thoughts , it's as if Johnny knew. Simon grateful that he didn't have to call answered the phone "hey ! I was just getting ready to call you.." his voice trailed off sleep soaking in his voice.

Johnny erupted into laughter hearing Simon's words "I figured as much" he let out a small hum "need us to come over?" Simon sighed,  relief. "Yes please, I'm exhausted." Laughter once again filled Simon's ears. "Be over in 10." Johnny said before hanging up leaving Simon alone with the silence. Simon sighed looking at his baby girl smiling away at her daddy not a care behind those pretty eyes. Simon leaned down placing a soft kiss on her forehead. "I love you ... pretty girl." He smiled at her little squeal she let out when he kissed her head , it melted his heart and almost made him forget the lack of sleep invading his body.

Simon stood in the kitchen making himself a cup of tea with Cynthia in one arm giving him his other arm to stir in his tea. "Your Johnny will be here soon" he chuckled too himself as she let out a giggle as if she could understand him. The sound of the door bell snatched simon from his thoughts he quickly sipped his tea before heading to the door,  opening it he was so relieved to see his other half at the door.

"Johnny!" Simon cheered "oh what a sweet relief it is too see you both" he hugged them both letting them in "uncle si!" Johnny's kids greeted him excitedly. "Hey kiddos!" He kissed their ends,  Johnny's wife took Cynthia and disappeared moments later.

"Hello Simon, how's it going?" Johnny chuckled hugging him again once his kids scattered off to the rooms simon put together for them.

"Oh you know sleep deprived and ready to take over the world" he joked walking back to the kitchen Johnny following. "I really didn't want to bother you two." Simon sighed leaning against the counter sipping his tea.
