our story starts on a depressing note. Apollo, currently in his mortal form Lester Papadopoulos, should be celebrating for finally conquering his greatest enemy but he cant bring himself to do so after all the death and destruction that his trials caused, Jason dead, Meg orphaned twice, Percy further traumatized, and his own Gods damned son and Nico falling into Tartarus Just to save Apollo.
The Guilt pounded against his chest just as as violently as a rockstar's drumkit, the sorrow howling around in his body like a storm inside his battered, teenaged body. He collapses on the steps of his cabin as viciously loud and shaky sobs and screams crawl endlessly out of his throat, growing in volume and frequency the more he remembers the number of losses. all of his anguish and grief overload his senses as Kayla and Austin try and console him, making sure that their troubled father knows that neither of them blame him for their older brother's fate.
10 minutes later the angst filled, heart wrenching cries quieten down to silent tears mixed with the occasional hiccup before he finally looks up and hugs his kids individually, clinging to them as his lifelines. He thanks them constantly as they help him into bed and checks on his still recovering injuries. "well dad, your injuries are doing well. by tomorrow they should be fully healed" Austin, as the new head healer, states confidently as he smiles kindly to his tired father "get some rest, we'll look after you for once" he smirks, finally getting a small laugh from the bedridden blonde. little did apollo know that overnight his appearance would finally change, but not in the way he expected.
Kayla is the first one up the following morning and, as the head counselor for cabin 7, decides to do a headcount "Leah, Phil, Samantha, Charlie" she counts the 4 youngest members first with a smile "Darcy, Mike, Fran and Nic" she moves to the next two bunks "Olive, George, Beth and Ricky" she moves across the room "and finally, Kayla, Austin, Will" she mentally stalls as she looks at Solace's bunk, recalling all of the memories she has with him. Kayla shakes her head to finish the headcount, Upon seeing her Father's state she rushes over to the big house to inform Chiron.
