Usagi/Rei

Rei was busy.

She was done with her duties for the day and had closed up her shrine. She was now making a cup of tea. Rei took the kettle and started to pour. 

Then she heard a crash. 

Rei promptly stopped, and set down the kettle. She dashed outside to the shrine entrance.

"I hope it's not some vandal or a robber," rei thought to herself. She opened the door.

"What"

On the ground,  sprawled out in all directions, was a blonde girl with extremely long pigtails, coming together in a bun. She was wearing a school uniform, similar to that of Ami and Makoto She was being mercilessly pecked at by Phobos, while a black cat swatted at Deimos, mostly failing.

There was only one person who looked exactly like that, and was idiotic enough to bust into a closed shrine thinking it was open: Usagi Tsukino.

Usagi was the girl at her school with...mediocre grades and a tendency to be extremely clumsy. She was also one of her good friends, as much of a goofy goober she was. 

Rei whistled sharply. The crows, almost immediately, perked up and flew over to her.

Usagi groaned and picked herself up. As soon as she saw rei, she smiled.

"Oh hi rei! Sorry, I wanted to come visit you since I was bored, and everyone else was busy!"

Rei didn't want to hurt her feelings, but she wanted some alone time now. So she said, strictly but calmly, "sorry usagi, but...um... the shrine is closed. But I'm sure I can hang out with you tomorrow"

Usagi took about 10 seconds to process this, then proceeded to get on her knees and beg.

"Please rei? I won't be a problem and I can help you with your work and stuff!"

"I'm sorry, but-

"PLEASE REI? PRETTY PRETTY PLEASEEEEEEEEE????" Usagi was now at her feet. Rei could see Luna ( the cat for non fans) sigh in the corner.

Rei was not in the mood for a scene. She was tired and wanted to get inside. It was getting colder out, and she supposed letting Usagi stay for a little wouldn't be too awful.

"Okay fine, you can come in, but just for a little-

"Woohoo!" Usagi had already skipped up to the door, and let herself inside. Luna sighed, and padded up to rei. "She's really excited to see you, she's been extremely bored with nothing happening around here" Luna told her. And rei could understand. There was no monsters to fight, no events, and most of her friends were busy.

"I know, just...I wanted a little free time. It's fine though," rei responded. Luna walked inside, while rei followed.

Rei walked inside, holding a tea tray with cups and a kettle. She set the tray down and poured the tea. Luna was in the corner, napping. Usagi was already talking her head off, being the happy go lucky girl she was.

"So I was just chilling in my room, bored out of my mind, when I got the idea to make some origami! But I couldn't do it, I messed up about 13 hearts before I gave up and decided to go to the Game Center. But I didn't have any money so I had to find something to do. So I went to the park but if my was REALLY boring. I went to ami's house and-

Rei listened to all of Usagi's rants and stories. This girl could TALK. It had been five minutes and she had only seen her pause once for a sip of tea. It was pretty funny.

And a little cute. But she kicked the thought out of her head before it grew.

"So how are you rei? What have you been up to?" 

The question caught her off guard. She hesitated before answering. "Well... I've been doing shrine chores, and mostly just praying too. That's it, nothing of interest"

"Really? That's interesting! I've just been chilling, and doing origami, and wal-

"I know usagi." Rei couldn't help but laugh. 

Usagi started laughing at her mistake too. She and rei were just laughing, like good friends. And rei, slightly noticed her heart beating a little faster. 

But why? She wasn't embarrassed for any reason she could think of. She was just listening to Usagi and her cute little laugh.

Cute??????

Rei could feel her cheeks heat at the realization of her thought. And Usagi noticed too. A sky look appeared on her face. Luna woke up, JUST AT THAT MOMENT AS IF AUTOTUNED TO 😧

"Reeeeiiiiiii..... why are you blushing like that??????" Usagi inquired slyly.

"Oh...nothing"

Usagi clambered over. "Cmonnnnnnnn! I won't tell anyone! Is it a secret? A rumor? A BOY??????!????????" 

Rei turned even redder. "No! Plus, even if it was a boy, I have shrine duties! I have more important things to focus on!"

"Hahaha! Come on... you won't go anywhere till you say something!" Usagi climbed on top of rei. As strong as rei was, Usagi was holding on to her for dear life. Rei tried to push her off, but she stayed on.

And she didn't know why she was so conscious of the fact that Usagi was right over her.

Usagi got closer, and rei could feel her breath on her face as she got closer by the second. 

"Cmon Usagi! Get off! You have to go soon anyway!" Rei yelled. 

"Well I guess we'll be staying for a while!" 

Considering her personality, rei thought Usagi Would move after a few minutes, but she stayed for at least 20 minutes. 

"Um...Usagi, could you genuinely move? You've been here for a while-

Then she heard a slight snore.

Of course she was asleep. Considering she barley woke up for school on time and fought monsters in the night, it wasn't a surprise she was catching up on sleep.

Rei slowly moved, but Usagi groaned and stirred. And as much as she wanted to move, she had to admit, it wasn't that uncomfortable even with her on top of her. And she looked so peaceful and even a little cute sleeping so calmly.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
