When BooSeokSoon finally ventured out for their next ghostbusting opportunity, it was no surprise that their new ghost friends were already following them. It wasn't a warehouse this time, but a room in the ever-so-popular 5:26AM hotel. It wasn't the first of such occurences, but having a squadron of ghosts following them and dropping unhelpful quips and observations about the world around them was.
"Woah," Seungcheol commented as the elevator door of the hotel slid open. "It just... opened?"
Seungkwan scoffed. Curiousity was only natural for someone who died 400 years ago. "Wait until it moves up."
"It goes up?!" Mingyu asked, shocked.
Soonyoung let the elevator answer for itself, pressing the button that allowed it to start going up. The ghosts all piled into the elevator as well, well known enough in Caratland that nobody would cast them a second glance.
They arrived on the 13th floor, which really should've been a sign of what was to come. 13th floors were in everything in Caratland, however, as the supernatural was both something they leaned towards and tried to avoid. It was an interesting dynamic, but it just meant that there was a floor that was either haunted by friendly ghosts or... not-so-friendly ones.
"Room 1313." Seokmin stared at the door, a nervous hand on the knob. "How fitting."
He turned the handle, Soonyoung already pushing the smoke machine out in front of them. The ghosts, however, just filed inside, commenting on how nice the place was.
"This is a great table," Jihoon noted, making a point of it by standing on it. Not that he weighed anything.
"Agreed." Vernon pointed at the mirror. "Nice mirror, too. Not that I can see myself in it."
Wonwoo moved towards it. "I see something, though."
Seungkwan looked at Seokmin and Soonyoung. Neither of them were in range of the mirror. Carefully, he grabbed the smoke machine, pointing it at the mirror and starting it up.
Coughing.
"Come out!" Seokmin advised, hiding behind the couch. "We're friendly!"
"There's more of us out here," Mingyu offered.
Two ghosts phased out of the mirror, one clearly from the Shakespearean era and the other in hanbok, just like Seungcheol.
"How nice!" Seungcheol cheered.
"Holy shit," Seokmin murmured, "why are there more?"
"How nice," Soonyoung deadpanned, repeating what Seungcheol had said.
Jihoon jumped off the table, pulling the two ghosts away from the mirror and towards the centre of the room. "Well, you are...? Come on, we're all curious."
"You guys are..." the one in hanbok looked down. "also ghosts?"
"Not all of us," Seokmin clarified, crawling out from behind the couch. "But welcome to the club."
"We don't have everyone with us, though," the Shakespearean ghost added.
"Ah." Seungkwan looked around. "Soonyoung, Seokmin, you find the other..."
"Three."
"Three."
"Okay." The ghost clasped his hands together. "My name is Yoon Jeonghan, and I was born in 1575. I loved Shakespeare. Actually, to be specific—"
"Alright, next."
"Hong Jisoo," Ths second ghost spared. "1420."
"So right around when Hangul was about to be invented, huh?" Seungkwan nodded. "What was th—"
A loud sound, something like a vacuum, which was a sound that was only made when the smoke machine was overheating. Was Seungkwan really going to have to step in?
"I found them!" Soonyoung yelled over the sound of the machine. "Wen Junhui, 1820, something about the Opium Wars. Xu Minghao, 420 B.C.E, Confucius or something. And then Lee Chan, 913, three kingdoms. That's it, right?"
"That should be it." Seokmin chirped, suddenly not as scared as he once was.
"And who are you three?" Chan asked.
"That's a good question, actually," Wonwoo sat down on the couch. "Who are you three?"
Seokmin opened his mouth happily, turning to Seungkwan.
"I'm not saying that corny shit ever again."
"Please?"
"No."
"Please?"
"No."
"Please?"
Seungkwan sighed. "I'mBooSeokSoon'syoungestBoo." He didn't move into a thumbs up, however.
"I'm BooSeokSoon's leader, Seok!" Seokmin forced Seungkwan's thumb to stand up, putting up his own.
Soonyoung was able to function on his own. "I'm BooSeokSoon's oldest, Soon!"
"And together, we are..."
"Boo Seungkwan, Lee Seokmin, and Kwon Soonyoung. Also know as the Ghostbusters." Seungkwan wriggled out of Seokmin's grip. "I am never saying that corny ass phrase again."
"We let you go first, though!" Soonyoung pouted. "Don't do this to us."
"How about we show our assorted ghost company a place to stay for the time being instead?"
