You: "Hey, out of the way, coming through," you say while skating past a group of pedestrians on the sidewalk. 'Man staying up all night re-watching old dual monster tournaments maybe wasn't the best call, but seemed like a good way to practice for today.' "Alert, long board on your left."
You can feel your heart beating from your chest as your racing down the streets. Today's the day you get into dual academy, but first you're gonna have to actually make it to the dueling center.
You: You begin approaching a figure in front you, "Hey behind you". You slow down, then swerve right to avoid the them.
???: "Hey watch out,"
*Slam!*
You crash into someone and both of you fly off slightly to the side. It hadn't been the person in front of you, rather someone from behind trying to run past. You both landed safely on a grass patch, but the stranger you bumped into dropped some cards.
???: "Hey sorry about that, I'm really in a hurry," the stranger says as he began picking up his cards.
You: "Ugh my arm, no worries". You get up and start helping him pick up his cards and you notice, "nice hero cards, by the way."
???: The stranger continued picking up his cards, but he seemed happy from the compliment. "Yeah their the best aren't they, oh and the names Jaden, nice to meet you."
You: "Y/N, and likewise." Your attention is drawn towards Jaden's direction and near him you notice the figure that was in front of you before you crashed. He's still standing there looking at you both.
Jaden: "Hey, guess you saw that. Sorry, we almost crashed into you," Jaden said while chuckling to himself.
The new stranger cracks a smile at the response.
???: "You two are duelist aren't you,"
Jaden: "Yeah, I'm just gonna try out at the academy. I'm not sure about Y/N though."
You: "In the same boat as you," you say to Jaden, while staring at the stranger in awe. You recognize him.
???: "You don't say" The stranger reached to his belt and opened his card case.
