You, Jaden, and Syrus are attending Dr. Crowler's class. Crowler was currently giving a lecture on spell and trap cards, and called on Alexis to describe the different types.

Alexis: " Duel Monster cards can be grouped into normal monster cards, fusion monster cards, ritual monster cards, effect monster cards, trap cards, and spell cards. Trap cards can be seperated into normal traps, counter traps, and continous traps. Spell cards can be seperated into normal spells, continous spells, equip spells, ritual spells, quickplay spells, and field spells.
Dr. Crowler: "Perfect," Crowler says, clasping his hand and looking pleased, "I would expect nothing less from one of Obelisks."
Alexis: "Of course Dr. Crowler."
You: "Well she certainly knows her stuff, " you whisper over to Syrus and Jaden.
Dr. Crowler: "Now who to call on next." Crowler begins looking in the direction of you and your friends.
It's pretty clear that Dr. Crowler gets annoyed with the Slifers, especially Jaden. You assume it's probably because of the entrance exam. You and Jaden talked about each other's duels afterwards, and sounded like he took Crowler for a ride.
Dr. Crowler locks eyes with you. You give him a confident look that says you're ready to answer. It was a bluff though.
Dr. Crowler: "You Syrus Trusdale," Crowler says, looking past you and at Syrus.
You: 'My plan worked, but at what cost. I'm sorry Syrus, you'll have to take one for the team.'
Syrus: "Huh?" Syrus says while shotting up out of his seat.
Dr. Crowler: "Explain to the class what a field spell is."
Syrus: "A field spell is ah thing that ah does the thing that effects the ahhh," Syrus says stumbling over himself.
Random Student: "Even Pre-duelers know the answer to this you Slifer Slacker." The remark came from where student from the Obelisk students sat.
Room is momentarily filled with laughter, and even Crowler has an amused smile.
Syrus: "No wait I know I know."
It seemed like a spotlight was put on Syrus now, the stares could be felt coming at our direction.
Jaden: "Relax Sy you got this."
You: "You remember Jaden's match right, what does it do."
