In Fizzarolli's dressing room, the air was heavy with tension. Fizzarolli and Blitzo sat across from each other, the silence stretching between them like a taut wire. Their relationship had been strained recently, and it was time to address the elephant in the room.
Fizzarolli, usually the embodiment of energy and charisma, looked uncharacteristically somber. His eyes were downcast, and he couldn't seem to find the right words to start the conversation. The weight of the issue had been gnawing at him for a while.
Blitzo, equally aware of the tension, cleared his throat and finally broke the silence. "Fizz, we need to talk about this."
Fizzarolli nodded, his voice laced with sadness as he finally spoke up. "I know, Blitzo. It's just... we've been going in different directions lately."
Blitzo took a deep breath, clutching his mother's necklace. He had noticed the growing divide between them too. "Yeah, I've been swamped with my assassin business, and you've got your clowning career. It feels like we hardly see each other anymore."
Fizzarolli's eyes welled up with tears, and he couldn't hold them back any longer. A single tear rolled down his cheek as he confessed, "I miss you, Blitzo. I miss us."
Blitzo's heart ached as he saw Fizzarolli's tears. He reached across the table and took Fizz's hand, squeezing it gently. "Fizz, I miss you too, more than I can put into words. But it doesn't have to be the end for us. I don't want to give up on what we have."
Fizzarolli looked up, his gaze meeting Blitzo's with a mixture of hope and doubt. "But can we make it work, Blitzo? Our lives are so different now."
Blitzo's eyes sparkled with determination as an idea formed in his mind. He leaned in closer to Fizzarolli, his voice tender. "Fizz, do you remember that song you used to sing to me when I was feeling down?"
Fizzarolli's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "The song? Blitzo, what does that have to do with anything?"
Blitzo smirked and started humming the familiar tune, the notes carrying a hint of mischief. He sang softly, his voice wavering a bit from lack of practice.
"Shake shake shake Senora,
Shake your body line!
Shake shake shake senora,
Shake it all the time!""Blitzo... are you seriously-? We haven't done this in years."
"It's worth a shot. Besides, we have chemistry. What do you say?"
Fizzarolli sighed, but a small smile tugged at his lips. He couldn't stay mad at Blitzo, and he knew the song was one of his favorites.
Fizzarolli gave a half-hearted shrug. "Fine, why not? If this is what you really want..."Blitzo beamed, his enthusiasm infectious. "Come on, Fizz, it'll be fun! Just like old times. Now get your cute ass over here!"
He grabbed Fizz by the waist and pulled him close, their bodies moving in sync. They started off slow, a few steps forward and back, but the rhythm soon became more frantic. The dance was exhilarating, the adrenaline pumping through their veins.
They spun around the room, their laughter echoing through the halls. They were lost in their own little world, nothing else mattering except each other. As the song came to an end, they both collapsed onto the couch, breathless and giddy.
Blitzo looked at Fizz with a wide grin, his eyes filled with adoration. "See, I told you we still got it."
Fizz smiled and pulled Blitzo into a tight embrace, resting his head on his chest. Blitzo kissed Fizz's forehead, his voice soft. "We can make it work, Fizz. I promise."
