I enter fathers study. The corners are dark even though his window is open. The whole street view could get a good peak inside.

Father is sitting at his table, filling out paperwork. With his head down, I can sense that he knows I'm already here. His entire existence right now has my blood boiling. The very man that wants Lena dead. Who had me end things with her. I can never get that image of her out of my head. Her shredded tears from her broken heart which my words caused. Father is to blame for all of this.

"I didn't think it was possible you'd leave your self loathing." Father finally looks up and examines my suffering, "I can see that you brought it with you."

My jaw clenches at the sight of him. Hearing his voice disgusts me. "What do you want?"

Father leans back into his chair with a grin, "Am I not allowed to see my son?"

I break eye contact as my chest tightens. When have I ever been his son. If anything, I'm a tool to him. I scoff and shake my head, "Cut the crap. I know you want something."

Father leans forward with a smile

Father leans forward with a smile. He nods, "You were never the one to be fooled." He inhales before standing and makes his way around his desk, "I have business with someone in San Diego and I'm hoping you'll take care of it."

I catch myself almost laughing in his face, "What makes you think I'd do that?" I step forward, ignoring his cocky grin, "You threatened to kill Lena and you still expect me to help?" I lean closer, our shadows colliding, "Fuck you." I turn on my heel and head towards the doors.

"I'll allow Lena to live." Fathers words stop me in my tracks. I bite the inside of my cheek. I want to call his bluff but the other side of me wants to believe him. Only because I want Lena to live a happy life. "If you prove yourself to me like you did all those years ago, I'll leave the girl alone."

I look over at him, my eyes burning into his skull. I can't trust this man. I'd be an idiot to be fooled by him again. "You're lying."

Father smiles and collides his hands together, "Normally, yes, I would be lying but I'm not. You do this and Lena can live out her vampire years." Father approaches me and points his finger, "On one condition."
