Flames shot high in the air from the candles surrounding the summoning circle, lighting the walls of the dark room up in a bright orange light and making Copia, shield his eyes, unlike Aether, the Quintessence-ghoul who helped the Cardinal with the summoning, and Sister Imperator, who is there to make sure everything goes smoothly.
That was the moment Copia should have realised that something went wrong during the summoning of the newest member.
Normally the flames of the candles turn into the represantive colour of the element which the summoned Ghoul or Ghoulette has after the summoning spell is complete and the demonic creature is summoned into the circle from the deepest pits of hell. The colour purple is quintessence, green earth, red fire, blue water, and white air.
But this time, the flames did not change their colours, making both humans and the Quintessence-ghoul wonder if the summoning was even a success. But the flames of the candles shot up. It must have worked.. so why didn't they change their colours.
"Did I do something wrong..?"
The Cardinal mutters in a quiet tone while looking at the summoning circle in front of him where the flames are still up high and hot, blocking the vision into the circle.
He looks over to Aether, who also looks at the flaming circle with a confused look.
"Well. Looks like yet another failed attem-"
Sister speaks before cutting herself off as the flames get weaker again and return to the soft candlelight they were before. Copia said the summoning spell.
In the middle of the circle was a black, smoke like gas, slowly seeping out of the ground and forming itself into a creature that is kneeling on the ground, its head turned to look at the three individuals, tilting it slightly to the side while looking them over like a curious puppy.
Copia let's out a small gasp as he saw the creature slowly materialise in the circle, already having thought that this summoning was, again, a failed one and just a waste of material.
But no, there was a now fully materialised Ghoul sitting in front of him. The three are all looking at the demonic creature inside the summoning circle, ready for him to attack or lash out with his powers like the other Ghouls and Ghouletts before him did.
But he only looks at them while a grin spreads onto his face, showing the razor sharp fangs in his mouth.
"Why isn't it doing anything. Is it powerless."
Sister hisses in a sharp tone under her breath while looking at Copia from the corner of her eye, who slowly approaches the circle, looking at the Ghoul inside of it, confused on what he even is.
"And why does it look so weird.. are you sure it isn't just another messed-up summoning.?"
The Cardinal hears Sister mutter under her breath while just staring at the Ghoul. It was true. The demonic creature does look different than the other Ghouls and Ghouletts Copia had summoned.
The Ghoul does have the normal ash black skin, fangs, horns, claws, and black sclera, like the other Ghouls do.
But he also has dark red spots along his skin, which seem to be barely noticeable (or maybe it's just the bad light). Something that looked like gills on his neck, like a Water-ghoul would have. The skin of his tail is black but has white fluffy looking hair at the end, looking almost like a small cloud. The horns are a deep black and long, seeming similar to these of the Earth-ghoul that Copia summoned. The hair is curly and falls just above the Ghoul's eyes, but not covering the pure white eyes up. It seems to be thick black curls, with the front part being a dark purple.
"Let's not have any bad first impressions before even getting to know him.."
The Cardinal response in a more calm way then before, while walking closer to the Ghoul, now being slightly less cautious and letting his guard slip down, seemingly trusting the calm attitude of the Ghoul and hoping he won't try to rip the Cardinal into shreds.
After a few more steps, he stops abruptly in front of the circle as he sees the recently summoned's white pure eyes turn a deep red and fire bursts out of his hands and burn up across his skin while he jumps forwards to Copia with a loud snarl.
The Ghoul quicklt gets stopped by the line of the circle which holds him back like an invisible force field, and also have the Cardinal get pulled away by Aether who's tail is now wrapped around Copia's leg in a protective manner.
The Quintessence-ghoul keeps on closely watching the other ghoul, whose eyes have turned back to the pure white while the fire slowly disappeared from around him.
"So... not powerless.. a Fire-ghoul..?" But why does he have gills and a fluffy tail. That doesn't make sense.. unless he is not a Fire-ghoul.. but then, how does he have fire magic..?
Copia breathes shakily out while looking at the Ghoul with a surprised and slightly terrified look before turning his gaze over to Sister Imperator, who looks at the Ghoul with a pleased expression, happy that this is not another messed up summoning and they got a useful Ghoul out of it.
"Well now, what are you waiting for, Cardinal, do the binding spell. Get the Ghoul under your control!"
She says in a slightly cheerful tone while still looking at him.
"It may look weird, but I am sure it will be of great use for us. We will just have to cover it up a bit more than the other creatures to hide its weird appearance!"
She continues happily while a small smirk spreads onto her lips while she doesn't take her eyes off the Ghoul for even one second, finding his appearance very intriguing.
"Oh, okay.. right- binding spell"
The Cardinal mutters with a nod while unravelling Aether's tail from around his leg, which earns him a small noise of protest from the taller individual to step closer to the summoning circle again.
Copia grabs his upside-down cross, which hangs from a losse chain from around his neck, and takes a deep breath as he stops in front of the circle while looking at the Ghoul inside said circle.
The Ghoul's eyes track the Cardinal's every step. He seems to be aware of every breath the man in front of him takes but doesn't seem scared or frightened. It's more curiosity and a very light shimmer of amusement in his gaze.
The Cardinal takes one last deep breath before reaching his hand over the line of the summoning circle and starting to mutter the spell while looking into the Ghoul's eyes, who, to even Aether's and Sister's surprise, came closer to the man casting the spell.
Is the spell not working?! Why is he coming closer and not trying to get away or even out of the circle?!
Copia takes a deep breath to try and stay focused on the task at hand. He had to focused to get this spell to work. Once Copia was done with the spell, he looked the Ghoul over as best to his abilities, trying to see if it worked, if the binding spell worked, and he is now under the Cardinal's control.
But nothing. The Ghoul doesn't even have an elemental mark on his chest like the others do, but instead has an upside-down pentagram.
Did it work..?

The Summoning of a Multi-ghoul
ParanormalSo, this is an idea I had for Swiss after his summoning. Not only was our beloved Multi-ghoul new in the clergy, but also was he a completely new kind of ghoul. Which probably made him double the amount of weird for the others. Anyways- I started th...
