The audience groaned as an 8-years old girl holding an microphone looked at the tall man.

Man: "I'm sorry Lindsey, you'll be going home", said the host.

Just great. I thought I was going on my way to a acting empire but now that dream has been crushed by just seven words. I didn't want to cry, as there is a audience of people staring at my every move. I just nodded and bowed down and walked off the stage, holding in tears.

I just lost the second round of Music Sees Talent. At least I even landed it, as it took me 5 rounds of training and auditions to make it. I was beat by a stupid-looking boy named Jackson. He had dumb curls and everything about him was dumb. He was kinda cute though..but I will never see him again so that's a lost chance.

I shook his sweaty hand. I was so sad about my loss, I had forgotten his name. It's not like it mattered anyways. After I walked in the backstage room, I saw my father wait in the room for me.

Dad: "Sorry, Lindsey. You did try though!" Lindsey nodded as she bit her lip. "But anyways, I have a surprise."

Lindsey: "What is it?"

Dad: "Well silly, it's a surprise. But you might just want to check it out now." He gave her an poster that had a picture of the DumbTV emblem.

"Does your son or daughter love to crack jokes like there's no tomorrow? Well, this is the road for them! Auditions range from ages 8 to 13. They are open call, no manager needed. Show us what you got! Auditions - 7:30 AM, Smiley Face Entertainment Studios, California."

Lindsey: "I'm gonna audition for a show!" I was jumping up and down.

Dad: "Yes, they are going to be outside of town so we need a good night's rest or we're going back to Texas. Lindsey, this is a serious step in your career. You need to take it very seriously."

Lindsey: "Yes, Daddy." I was smiling so big, I could light up a room with it.

I dreamed about me acting in shows and movies and being glamorous, just like Audrey Hepburn or the Monroe lady. I am living the life, chilling with my girlfriends while seeing my kids run around as I drink a margarita. I will make that happen, make this happen, no matter what.

In the morning, I ate breakfast faster then Sonic, then raced out to the Cadillac before my father could change his mind. We entered the lobby at Smiley Face to sign in.

"What's your full name, sweetie?" The secretary asked the boy in front of me." Samuel Jean Bridgers." He replied as he wrote his name on the list with a pen. He put it back for the next person.

"Next, what's your name, miss?" "Lindsey Randell Turner."

Samuel was so hot. He had long curls and bangs. His eyes sparkled at me everytime we walked in the same space. I didn't even know him, but I liked him so deeply. I was probably never seeing her again after this, but i blushed and bit my lip even when he talked. I wonder if he would liked me back? I don't know.

*1 hour later.* Finally, my turn to audition. I stood up and grabbed my script. I waved to my dad as I walked in the room, seeing a director + 3 male producers waiting for the next person. I walked up with enough confidence to blast a rocket into space and see Star Trek. One of the producer called out my name and I walked up to the producers. I pulled out my script and waited for the director to film.

The director turned on the camera. "3..2..1." He started rolling.

Lindsey: "Hi, I'm Lindsey Turner and I'm auditioning for DumbTV." I tore the room down with my line delivery. Everyone was enjoying it, even the director was laughing. I was so sure I would get the role.

I walked out of the room, thanking the producers and director. My dad stood up and smiled at me.

Dad: "How was the audition?" He asked.

Lindsey: "Wonderful! They laughed at all my jokes and such!" He gleefully smiled as he looked at the time.

Dad: "It's time to visit your mom soon, wanna go right now?"

Lindsey: "Yes, please!" I really wanted to see Momma since it has been a few weeks since last time.

Dad: "Alright, let's go." He grabbed my hand as we walked out of the room, down the stairs, and out of the building. We got in the car and drove to a 3-story colourless building with the words "Sandy Kennedy Psychiatric Care". I don't know what that means, but I know my mom's in there.

We climbed out of the car and into the white building, where Dad signed his name onto the paper. We then walked in to look in the meeting room where Momma was waiting to see me, drinking her coffee. I ran over to the table she was sitting at, where she hugged me tightly. We stood in that pose for what seemed like hours.

Mom: "You has grown so much, Linds! How are you, baby?"

Lindsey: "Good, Momma! I auditioned for an show today!" I saw that Momma's face dropped as I said "auditioned". She then smiled back.

Mom: "Hope you get on the show!" I don't believe her but I take it in.

**1 hour later.** I hugged my mom as it was time to go. She hugged me tightly, not wanting to let me go but she eventually let me go. She waved to Daddy as we went out of the building and into the car.

We went back to our house, where our pet dog was waiting for us. As we unlocked the door, the dog jumped on me and made me trip on the grass. I laughed and laughed as I rubbed his head. I got up and walked in the house with the dog. I put some dog treats in his bowl, rubbing his head.

I went back to my bedroom, and jumped on the bed, tired from the audition. I then fell asleep, hoping that tomorrow would be as good as today.
