I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping and the sight of the very- bright sun. I rubbed my eyes and got up, stretching my arms out as they was pretty sniff and walking out of the room to see Dad excitedly talking on the phone.
Lindsey: "What is it, Dad?" He said "Bye" and hung up the phone, running up to me and grabbing my shoulders.
Dad: "You got casted in the DumbTV thing, silly!" I looked around in shock then smiled big.
Lindsey: "I'm gonna be in a show?!" Me and Dad was jumping up and down.
Dad: "You have to prepare today! The script and everything else will be coming later on."
Lindsey: "Alright, thank you, Dad!" I began to hug Dad, as I was excited to finally make my dreams come true after that disastrous Music Sees Talent episode I was on.
*Few Hours Later.* I was rehearsing the lines in my bedroom, pretending I was with the other cast members, and more. By the end of the script, I was sweating like a dog in a hot country sun.
Dad: "Lindsey, dinner!"
Lindsey: "Coming down!" I put down the script on my table, opened my door, and went to the dinner table where my dad was already sitting.
I sat in my chair, looking down at the plate of food and seeing some spaghetti covered in tomato sauce, fries previously frozen in the freezer, and his famous garlic bread. I grabbed my fork and knife, digging in and eating the garlic bread.
Dad: "So dear, are you remembering your lines well? You know you need to study them hard if you wanna impress the audience at that show." He chuckled as he digged into the spaghetti on his plate, me also digging into my fries on my plate.
Lindsey: "Yes, daddy, I'll finish studying and rereading the lines after I get done with my plate of food."
Dad: "Good, baby, that's real good." He nodded, going back into his food.
Lindsey: "Also, dad uh... did you ever want to be an actor or get into Hollywood in general?" Dad set down his fork on table, putting his head in his hands and started thinking deeply into his past seemingly.
Dad: "Well..." He licked his lips, deep in thought. "Sort of? I wasn't a main actor anyway, i was just a background character in movies and shows until i met your mom, ah the beauty she was when she was younger." He looked into the distance, seemingly remembering my mom back when she still had her looks, no shade to her now of course. "She was like a goddess, everyone wanted her or wanted to be her back in the day.."
He kept on rambling like shut up already... but I sat there and listened on. And on. And on. He only closed his mouth after a full on hour of ranting about my mom's looks.
Dad: "But yeah, I was in Hollywood but not a big star or anything like your mom was."
Lindsey: "Yeah.. bye now dad." I finished my dinner and handed the plate to my dad as he finished his dinner and began washing the dishes, whistling some old tune. I walked back to my bedroom and laid back on bed with my script in hand, rereading the lines over and over.
