Umeed's grumbling stomach woke her up in the middle of the night. She moved around trying to find her way out of her sheets, her hand suddenly making contact with a bare, rock solid chest. She let out a scream, horrified and started punching the body beside her. A loud and familiar groan suddenly brought all the events of last night flooding back, "Kya hogaya hai yaar, Umeed?"

Farjaad reached for the lamp beside his bed, illuminating the room, Umeed realized these were not her sheets. A deep blush creeped across her neck and cheeks once she met Farjaad's eyes. After her little stint trying to tease and get back at him for making her jealous, he had turned the tables on her, both of them falling asleep, exhausted, in each other's arms.

He looked at her, eyes partially closed, smiling sleepily seeing her in his hoodie, in his bed, "You're okay?" He asked, his voice hoarse having just woken up.

Umeed was taken back to all the times they had fallen asleep together, sometimes spending late nights in his office, other times in his bed when Mimi and Niggo had travelled to see family, it all felt so familiar. Finding her voice, she finally spoke up, "I'm fine, mujhe bhook lagri hai," she said impatiently. "Haan, kal jo aap mujhe khaane mein lagi hui theen," he laughed knowing she was feeling shy.

"Zyada over mat hoyein, abhi aapki harkatein ginwana shuru karu?"

"Acha, okay fine," he put his hands up, surrendering to her, "Kya khaana hai?"

"Kal ka pizza udhaar hai aap par"

He picked up his watch to look at the time, it was 3AM. The fitness freak in him told him this was not the time to eat and to just wait till breakfast but he couldn't say no to Umeed. Not after last night, but if he was being honest, not ever.

He ordered her favourite pizza, fries, wings and coke. He looked at her as she read off what seemed like the entire menu, "Itna kaise khaogi? Zaaya hojayga."

"Sunein, maine kal se kuch nai khaaya hai aur abhi mujhe pata hai aapko bhi laalach aayegi mera khaana dekhkar toh bass chup chap mangwayein sab." He sighed, adding everything she wanted to the order.

Once he placed the order, he fluffed his pillows and sat up leaning his head against the headboard, he was still tired and absentmindedly reached for Umeed's hand. He traced circles on her skin with his thumb, he felt closer than ever to her but still so far away. Umeed noticed the wrinkles on his forehead, "Kya hua?"

Tum se mohabbat, he thought to himself but didn't dare to say. "Kuch nahi," he smiled, gently kissing her knuckles. Umeed wondered whether this tender and not-so-lustful form of affection was part of their no strings agreement and if there was something more there. If there was, she felt it too.

She realized this was the first night in a long time when she didn't have trouble falling asleep, she slept almost instantly, legs intertwined, her face on his chest, an ear pressed to his heart listening to his heartbeat, the most effective lullaby she had ever heard.

Farjaad noticed her eyes glaze over, lost in thought as she stared at their hands. He asked her question to her, "Kya hua?"

She brought her eyes up to meet his, "Kuch nahi."

They both knew they were lying.

The mood lifted once their food finally came, "6 slices mere, 2 slices aapke," Umeed unjustly divided the pizza. Farjaad could only smile knowing she wouldn't be able to eat more than 3. He put on her favourite movie, Tangled, she always said he looked like Flynn and hoped he could get her to realize her Prince Charming was right here, beside her. If only she would open her eyes.

"Ye Flynn kitna pyaara hai," Umeed sighed, taking another huge sip of Coke.

"Saans bhi lelo beech mein," he took the bottle of Coke from her, "Aur tum nai bolti theen ki main bilkul Flynn jaisa hi lagta hoon?"
