"Okay Aroness..." I took in a deep breath as I watched the bloodied reflection of myself in the mirror. I kept my face over the sink in the bathroom as it stained the white surface a rich crimson.

It reminded me of her eyes...

I had to peel off my shirt, which seemed impossible considering the pain I was in, but I grit my teeth until I growled through the pain of taking it off. My eyes shifted to their bright blue in the heat of the emotions. I stood and huffed, taking in what I could. It was a mess to look at, and I was lucky my body was as hardy as it was. Vincent sent me to handle the Hunters that broke through to our side, and I don't look half as bad as they do.

I have all of my limbs!

"What the fuck?!" Amoura stood in the bathroom doorway, dropping her drink as she looked at me. It was my fault for not locking the door before I took care of this. I also thought I had enough time before she got home from grocery shopping, "What happened to you?"

"Hunters, but they look worse!" I had to try to make light of the situation as she rushed in. Amoura was the perfect nurse. She filled the sink with warm water and diluted soap to start toweling away the blood. It was a relief, I was getting exhausted.

"Who...Vincent? Did you have a team?" She was getting angry, seething in her words as she took delicate attention to me, "What happened?"

"Vincent told me one Hunter passed through, but they had an entire team. I was not going to be able to come back unless the threat was handled, so I took care of things. I didn't think there would be an entire team..."

"You're lucky to be back alive! I will be talking to Vincent...now breathe," I let out a breath as she popped my shoulder back into place. I screamed out and grew weary. I had broken bones and bullet holes. At one point in time I was hit with whatever they could use when the ammo ran dry. Most of them used the tactical knives they had tucked away for emergencies.

"How many more?" I tried to zone out of the bullets Amoura pulled out of me.

"We just have to clean you up!" I was relieved to have her with me. She was the first time I felt this kindness in the world...even if my life is forever. I had no idea how to take care of myself like she did! She removed the rest of the ruined clothes from my body, and I tucked my injured arm close to my body as I got in the warm shower she started for me. It ran red for the longest time as she tried to do all she could. I grew weak, relying on the wall to hold me up, but it felt nice to remove the smell of blood from my body. She burned with a secret rage but focused on the task at hand.

"I need to lay down..." I was making it. I tried to, but the rest was a blur. She turned off the water and sat me back down on the edge of the bathtub. There was more pain, the glue to seal the wounds burned. Amoura put this ointment in the bandages that made the injuries feel so cold and numb. It helped, and by the time she was done I was slumping over on the wall.

"I got you Aro...just stay with me for a little longer!" Her voice was so soothing and I trusted her. I found enough energy to get to my feet and get myself to our bedroom. I needed her help the entire way, but we made it! The bed greeted me with a softness that was unmatched to the day I had.

"Vincent knew..." I needed someone to understand. I was already an outcast to everyone except her. I needed someone to not see me as disposable.

"I know...I will be handling that once we get you to sleep," I grabbed her hand weakly.

"Please...stay," The world faded around me, but I felt the comfort of her against me.

"Okay...but tomorrow when you wake up, I have to go handle this matter," Amoura was the only bit of comfort I felt. Most of the time I was terrible at telling her that, but she was the first to make me feel on top of the world. She could hold me without hurting me...
