Ivanna pulled into the driveway, seeing Sam and someone she didn't recognize talking on the front porch as it poured down. She looked similar to Leah in a way, but her face was softer, and her hair was longer. Ivanna knew Sam didn't really have any family that she didn't know about, so she was confused as to who this woman could be.
"Sam!" Ivanna called out as she walked towards the two, shielding herself from the rain with her arms. The man seemed taken aback that Ivanna was here, usually she would call and make sure he was home, but not this time. She also felt deep down she was glad she didn't call to give a heads up. "Who's this?" Looking at the unfamiliar woman with furrowed eyebrows.
"I'm Emily." The tanned lady stuck her hand out for Ivanna to shake which she did, she didn't see her as a threat. "Just an old friend of Sam's."
"Ivanna, his girlfriend." She gave her a tight-lipped smile, "It's nice to meet some more of Sam's friends." Ivanna looked at her man, wondering why she was never told about this specific friend, she wasn't usually the jealous type, but for some reason she couldn't just shake a feeling from the stranger standing in front of her.
"Hey, give us a minute if you don't mind." Sam stepped in, placing his arm around Ivanna's waist as he steered her inside.
"Sam what's going on? Who is that outside?" Ivanna immediately questioned.
"Leah's cousin, she believes she may know where Embry is staying and that there was a lead heading south of a few sightings of a large wolf, creeping too close to the nearby towns."
"So, is she a wolf too?" Ivanna questioned lowly, not knowing why she didn't want the woman outside to hear their conversation, "Or one of the guys imprinted on her?" That's the only two reasons Emily would know about them, or so she thought.
"No, she's just a close friend. Leah and Seth's cousin too at that, kind of how she found out about all of us."
"Oh." She acknowledged. She wanted to throw so many questions at him, ask him why they couldn't talk things through the other night, but she didn't. Instead, she threw her arms around him, missing his familiar scent and the warmth his body radiated.
Sam wanted to be upset with her, for trying to get close with Embry by going through his mom, but he couldn't, he knew that he didn't have a reason too. Because in the end, Ivanna was with him, and she was who he imprinted on.
"I've missed you Ives and I'm sorry for everything." He wrapped his arms around her tightly as he rested his chin onto the top of her head, inhaling her shampoo that smelled so strongly of different floral scents. "I got to realize and understand that Embry is just a friend to you, and I will now, I promise you."
Ivanna didn't say anything, she just hugged the man tighter hoping he was right, hoping he would stop pressing her about the situation.
"I'm sorry too Sam for making you feel that way, for putting doubt in your head. I love you." She pulled her head away from his chest looking up into his soft brown eyes as he peered back down at her, his lips leaning towards her, pressing softly as he missed the feeling.
"Ivanna!" A man's voice rang out from outside, "Ivanna! I wish to speak with you please!" The couple looked at each other, both very confused on who that could be. She ran outside to see someone she never thought she'd see again, she was terrified.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Ivanna managed to question as she stepped forward towards the man, knowing Sam wasn't far behind her. With him by her side, she knew she didn't have anything to be afraid of, that he would protect her in an instant.
"I just came to have a few words with you, that is all. I wish for no trouble." His accent was thick as he spoke with confidence, this man knew he had nothing to fear. Ivanna wasn't capable of power anymore and the man behind her wouldn't have enough time to transition before he would be able to make a kill.
