*ASHLYN P.O.V*
"I'll leave my dad's car keys in the car with the doors unlocked" I told the others. In return, i got approving nods from them. That clears the whole plan.
I look up at the long walls that marks the graveyard of school busses. Some of the lights that Aiden put up to melt the phantoms were starting to flicker. I sighed, I'll deal with it later.
Everyone else went to fix things around the place. Being a leader is hard work, I don't know how may parents deal with it...
Out of the blue, I see Aiden walk up to me. Of course he's going to talk to me. Ugh, I wish he'd just leave me alone, honestly, its getting annoying now.
"Heyy Ash!" His obnoxious voice rang in my ears. "I'm busy Aiden, What do you want" I give a sassy response, hoping he'd leave me alone. "You don't look busy" He remarks, looking at me staring daggers at a small box laying in front of me.
"What do you want, Aiden?" I asked him, annoyed. "oh, nothing, I'm just here to sit with you, nothing else" He said, smiling widely. His smile is creepy... yet oddly comforting? Yep, I'm messed up.
"Well, uhh, I'm busy... picking up this... box" I say, while stuttering a little. I'm not good at lying so I hope he believes that. I want to be left alone with my thoughts for a while.
"I don't careee, I'll still sit with you, no matter what you say" He said with a wide smile on his face, again. God, His smile is creeping the heck out of me.
"Alright" As soon as I said that, his smile grew wider. I want to wipe that smile off his face, he's creeping me. Aiden moved to sit on top of a big box while I stood next to him, facing the front display of everyone doing what they want. Logan and Ben seemed to be having a good time hanging out on the other hand, Taylor and Tyler were playing chess. Seems to me, Tyler was loosing.
Aiden's staring at me. I can feel it. Its making me feel clammy. His stare, it's so intense, its drilling holes in my body making me feel exposed.
"Stop staring." I say, sternly. He breaks contact with my body and looks at me. Eye contact. His red eyes stared into my green ones. A few moments later, he spoke up in a hushed voice "Do you think we'd still be friends if we didn't go to savannah?"
I looked away, thinking deeply. Would be be friends?
"Looking at how extroverted and psycho you are, we'd still be friends, yea" I said to him while staring at the ground. His eyes shifted to look at the others who were sitting happily in each other's comfort.
"I guess you're right..." He stated. His voice sounded dull, as if he was sad. Was it something I said?
I paid no attention to his sorrowful voice and walked away to get something laying on the floor nearby. It was a small piece of paper, on it was something written in blood red ink. I stare at it for a while, processing on what was written.
Aiden noticed my odd expression and hopped off to see what I was holding.
As soon as he looked at the paper. He stood there, frozen.
On the paper was written
'Time is ticking. Escape'The blood red ink was dripping slightly off the paper as it qas still fresh and newly written.
The first thing that came to mind was 'How did they know about the phantom world?' Maybe they're the reason we're stuck here.
"Aiden, are you seeing this or is it just me?" I ask him. My voice is shaking a little. Just who is this person to send a letter to us in the phantom world.
"I'm seeing this, we should tell the others" Aiden stated, concerned a little. For the first time, he wasn't laughing.
This situation really was serious."YO GUYS, COME LOOK AT THIS!" He yelled on the top of his lungs, blasting my eardrums.
Ben and Logan looked up from their work in progress and stared at Aiden with a confused look.
Taylor looked at Ashlyn and thought the situation was serious while Tyler paid no mind to it and played his turn.
"Tyler for one can you be serious about this and come here!?" I was pissed. He wasn't being serious at all. It's staring to get on my nerves.
Taylor was worried and walked towards me, wanting to see what made the leader so scared.
Logan and Ben were intrigued too and so came to me too, just to see what the chaos was about. Having no other choice, Tyler reluctantly followed behind his twin.
Taylor grabbed the still drying paper from my hand while everyone else stood behind her to get a view of it.
This shocked them to the core. How did they receive a note in the phantom world?
"Logan, how much time left?" I spoke up to the frozen crowd but mainly to Logan.
"3...3 minutes left" He said, stuttering at the beginning. The shock is soon dying down and everyone is left confused and puzzled.
"Let's deal with this in school, Times almost up" Aiden spoke loudly, catching everyone's attention.
*POOF*
We're back. where we were before. In the house. On my bed.
Alive.
I can't deal with this anymore. I want it all to stop. We can't even tell our parents, they'll think we're crazy and send us to a hospital or something.
It's eating me alive.
I'm forced to be friends with people I don't even know. Maybe if I didn't go to the trip...none of this wouldn't have happened...?
