It has been 3 days since you've arrived at Dio's mansion. Everything has been going smoothly.
You read books in your spare time, in the giant library as Dio attends to his own business.
Dio and you haven't been talking much since he's been so occupied with fig niuring out JoJo's next move and how he should go about attacking next.
It's getting lonely in the huge mansion even though there are so many people- no.. zombies.
Although while you were roaming the halls of the mansion, you happened to come across an anomaly.
A lizard with the head of a rabbit. creepy, but somehow adorable in a way. Rabbits were you're favourite animal, so it was hard to find it gross.
You decided to keep the anomaly for yourself and even give it a name.
"let's see... Lepus.. It fits." you had decided on its name.
Carrying the scaly yet soft anomaly upstairs to your bed chambers, you heard yelling from another room.
Worried of it being an argument breaking out you ran to go check, only to find it was Dio yelling at a zombie assistant.
You peeked into the dark room lit only with candles and the moonlight peering through the window, only to see a beautiful Boquet of black, red and white roses.
"oh my." you muttered to yourself, somehow Dio heard and whipped his head around.
"shit!"
You immediately left and ran down the hallway, up the stairs to your chamber.
Sitting on your queen bed with Lepus, you grabbed a book and decided to spend the next few hours reading.
"goodness.. this is so incredibly boring. if only he would take a time out of his day to at the very least come visit me!" you said, quite annoyed.
"well, here I am darling." the deep alluring voice calls out from the darkness of the hallway.
"Dio!" you exclaimed in joy.
jumping into his rough arms and strong chest, you finally could smell him, be near him and be held by him again.
"I just missed you so much.. one more day without you I would've gone mental!" you said as he rubbed your head, holding you in his arms still.
"I'm so sorry my love.. It just happened I had a lot more business to take care of than I had anticipated. But I am here now." Dio says leading you to sit on the bed with him.
"Yes. I'm glad you're here, how are you feeling?" you asked putting a hand on his thigh in concern.
"I'm doing just fine doll, you need not worry about me." He said in a low tone.
"You just seem so exhausted...is there anything I can do to help? Please? You've already done so much for me." you said putting both hands on each of his shoulders staring into his eyes.
"I just need rest. Do you mind if I lay here with you?"
"Of course not, do as you wish." you said as he and you slowly laid down on your bed.
Holding his head close against your chest as his right arm wraps around your waist, feeling the warmth from each other's bodies even though you're colder than ice. Was this love?
"my love?" Dio says quietly
"yes darling." you respond in the same tone.
"please don't leave me."
"I wouldn't dare." you say, pulling him closer.
You both eventually fell asleep in each other's arms, waking up hours later.
As you awoke, you realized the side of the bed where Dio was once laying was empty.
"seriously?" you murmured as you rubbed your eyes.
Thinking he had just forgotten about you again you looked to your left, there it was.
The bouquet of beautiful roses.
A note was attached.
It read,
"To my beloved (Y/N).
Everyday I spend with you means more to me than life itself. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish any of my goals without you by my side. Thank you for choosing me, for choosing to love me.
I love you.
Sincerely, Dio."
Your eyes started watering after finishing to read the letter.
"Oh my Lord... I love him so much..." you said, choked between sentences.
Lepus crawled into your lap as you were seated at the desk in your room, holding the letter.
sniffle "I'm sorry I just.. I never expected Dio to be the sensitive type." you wiped your tears away and pet Lepus' head.
"maybe tomorrow will be better. maybe we will finally start spending time together.."

sorry if this was short, I don't have many ideas so I just brainstorm on the spot to be honest. I'm very excited to be continuing with this fan fiction!
