Chapter One

When the king lost his wife, Viserys heart was broken into many pieces. Many people within the realm were putting pressure on the king for him to remarry.

Because the Lords of the realm we're hoping that the king would remarry so he can produce male children where this would replace the princess as heir.

The Lords of the realm will do anything to make sure that the princess does not become Queen. He was not thinking about that at all, but in the end he did he married the lady Alicent Hightower.

The best friend to his daughter. He announced the news within the small Council on who he was going to marry.

His daughter, Rhaenyra was inside the chambers of the small council. It was a devastating blow for the princess.

She felt extremely betrayed about everything but in the end there's nothing that she could do about it. She felt utterly lost within herself and it continued for 2 years.

The tension and the awkwardness between her former friend and her father continued for 2 years. And within those two years the queen, Alicent had already given birth to a son. And she was pregnant again.

The king and everyone of the Court went to the Kingswood for hunting. For the princess did not want to go at all but she was forced.

When they arrived everyone cheered  for the king and queen and the prince.

Rhaenyra never got that, she knew deep down that the realm would never accept her as Queen. And for her, she never wanted to be the heir.

She felt like there was nothing that could change her father's mind about the line of succession.

But she had an idea that maybe during this hunting trip she could change his mind. She tried to stay with herself and away from the Lord to ladies of the Court because they truly bother her to a degree.

The queen left the ladies of the court within the tent, she was heavily pregnant and she needed some air.

She was walking away from the tent just to get some air she almost tripped but she did not because she was caught by the princess.

Rhaenyra caught Alicent so she would not fall. Alicent was grateful for Rhaenyra.

After that there was some awkwardness between them both because the princess been first step.

After the awkness disappeared they started to speak to each other and every time they spoke in this sentence it was like they were starting up the Friendship again. Like no time has passed between them.

That is where Rhaenyra started to speak mine about the succession, on how she does not want to be Queen.

This caught Alicent's attention, she listened to everything that Rhaenyra said.

Rhaenyra just started to ramble about how she doesn't want to become Queen, and that she knows that no one in the world would accept her as Queen.

And that she made her peace with that she knows deep down the responsibilities that is expected of her and she wants to commit to that, she wants to make her father happy.

But she just doesn't know how to speak to him and she knows that he won't listen.

So the rest of the night the queen and the princess spoke the entire night enjoying themselves and speaking about the future to come.

Later they left each other to go to bed and to be ready for the next day. Rhaenyra was hoping that Alicent would speak to the King on her behalf, to get him to change his mind.

But Alicent spoke to her father first about what Rhaenyra said and this definitely shocked Ser Otto about it.

Rhaenyra stayed inside the Royal tent during the hunting trip, there was definitely a change within the air and things were going to turn out for the better.

But no one knew exactly how things were going to turn out.

When they made it back to Kings Landing Rhaenyra went to her rooms for a while, while Alicent went to the King's Room so she could speak to him privately.

Alicent spoke to Viserys about what Rhaenyra said during the hunting trip. And the King was surprised by the words that his daughter said.

But this was what was shocking to say the very least the king was not going to remove his daughter as his heir.

Alicent could not understand why he was doing this but for her she knew that she just needed to wait.

She went to the godswood Rhaenyra to tell her everything about what the king said and for Rhaenyra she was confused but also frustrated that her father wouldn't unname her as the heir.

Alicent could tell that Rhaenyra did not want it at all so she made a vow to Alicent. 

" When my father is no longer of this world, Aegon should be crown King and I will bend the knee. It is the right thing to do and that is what I'm going to do when the time comes. Your son should be the king.

I will forfeit all right with any claim I have. To make sure that your son becomes the king, that is my vow and promise to you". Rhaenyra said

Hiding in the godswood, Ser Otto Hightower was listening to the conversation between the Princess and the Queen.

He was glad, hell he was more than glad to see that the princess was thinking clearly.

That she had a more understanding on how the world works and how the world will only accept the firstborn son of the king to rule and not her.

Alicent smiled deeply. She was almost crying by all the words that the princess said. Both of them Embrace each other in a deep hug.

After that things went smoothly, the king Made match for his daughter, Rhaenyra with the house of Velaryon.

The word spread about the Union between House Targaryen and house Velaryon.

Everyone came to the capital for the beginning stages of the Union between his daughter and lord Laenor Velaryon.

Alicent helped Rhaenyra with her dress, while she was helping Rhaenyra with her dress she made sure that Rhaenyra stays away from Daemon.

Alicent heard from her father that Prince Daemon would be coming to the Capitol. Rhaenyra listened to everything the queen said about that.

The princess knew it was trouble waiting to happen and it was best to steer clear from it all.

Viserys had huge pride within himself seeing his wife and daughter being friends again. And he walks them both enter inside they throne room.

Dress beautifully and they took their seats up on the platform that was meant for them but they just waited for the guests to arrive.

When House Velaryon arrived in the throne room the princess and her future husband greeted each other.

The rest and the whole night of everyone ate delicious food, danced and everyone was happy.

When the feasts was all over the queen and the princess including Ser Criston Cole with Laenor Velaryon went into the godswood so everyone could speak about what will happen.

And for Laenor was actually relieved about the plan that they were working on. How the queen and Rhaenyra deciding on the future. And that the princess will not be future Queen.

For Ser Criston Cole he remained loyal to the queen and the princess because he can see that the princess was doing the right thing, he was doing his duty as a member of the king's guard.

And he made sure to keep it a secret from anyone else.
